Parent Liaisons aim to support and advocate for patients and their caregivers, improve their control of the treatment process, and add to the quality of care that they receive during their time at Rady Children's. Serving as a member of the Emergency Department (ED) team, this role would work primarily in our ED waiting rooms to provide support to our patients and families before they are seen. As one of the first contacts for those seeking care, the Liaison provides insight into our processes in the ED, as well as would respond to any concerns that might arise during their wait. This individual should be flexible and adaptable to assist with the constantly evolving needs of the department and the needs of our patients and families at any time during their shift. The ED is a Level I Trauma Center that consists of 42 beds, including two trauma rooms. We are the only pediatric emergency department within the San Diego region. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The main objective of the Bilingual Parent Liaison is to cultivate and increase parent and family involvement. Their role is to establish effective communication between home and school and improve community outreach and training opportunities for all parents and families of students in grades K-5 that will impact high student academic performance.

PAY GRADE: Consultative position, 29 hours per week; $25.00 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
