The City of Roanoke is seeking a Business Coordinator to serve in the Department of Parks and Recreation. The Parks and Recreation Business Coordinator performs a variety of assignments including financial administration, business analysis, and special project management related to the work of the Department. The position oversees the processes for budgeting, accounting, purchasing, permitting, and facility/program registration, and supervises administrative support staff. The position demonstrates skilled knowledge in various software systems utilized by the Department including, but not limited to, Civic Rec, VUEWorks, Advantage, Lawson, and NOVATime. Proficiency in MS Office products is required and experience with MS Power BI highly preferred. The position requires a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in business, public administration, parks and recreation, or related field and five to ten years related experience and/or training in local government, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Assists the Director of Parks and Recreation in a variety of assignments including performing financial duties, project management, administrative duties and special projects related to the work of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Meets and corresponds with various citizen, professional, business and other groups to answer questions and provide assistance in carrying out various programs and events
