Key Responsibilities Pilot Batch Execution Manufacture pilot batches following approved formulas and preliminary manufacturing instructions. Accurately weigh, measure, and process raw materials in accordance with batch records and compounding procedures. Operate pilot-scale mixing, heating, cooling, and homogenization equipment safely and effectively. Scale-Up Support Collaborate with R&D and Technical Writer to identify critical process parameters and adjust for vessel configuration differences. Document any process adjustments made during pilot runs to inform final manufacturing instructions. Troubleshoot formulation or processing issues during pilots and recommend process improvements. Technical Documentation & Feedback Provide detailed batch notes, including observations and process changes to the Technical Writer. Assist in drafting and refining manufacturing procedures for production scale with the Technical Writer. Support validation batches by ensuring process parameters from pilots are accurately transferred to production. Equipment & Safety Maintain pilot equipment in clean and calibrated condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly. Follow all safety, cGMP, and company procedures when handling raw materials and operating equipment. Participate in equipment setup, changeovers, and clean-down activities for pilot runs. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with Compounding, Quality, Technical Writer and R&D to ensure process consistency and product quality. Participate in technical transfer meetings and scale-up reviews (NPI). Train junior team members on pilot and small-scale compounding techniques as needed. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in chemical processing, cosmetic science, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in cosmetic or personal care compounding, with at least 2 years in pilot or scale-up manufacturing. Demonstrated ability to operate various compounding equipment (e.g., mixing vessels, homogenizers, heating/cooling systems). Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation processes, including emulsions, hot pour, gels, serums and scrubs. Skills • Pilots must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public and strives to maintain a friendly and professional working environment Operation and Safety Requirements: As a member of the Flight Crew, any person employed in this position shall maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds and shall be less than seventy (70) years old. Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program - Required Flight Times: • 2000 total flight hours with minimum of 1500 flight hours in category • 1000 hours PIC in category • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time • 200 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours of which were at night • 100 hours unaided night as PIC (or 50 hours of unaided with 100 hours of NVG time) • 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator time does not count) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations • Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft) • ATP rating in category meets this requirement • First OR Second-Class FAA Medical certificate required.
