Essential Responsibilities
Perform mainline pipeline construction tie in supervision of various tradesmen, labourers, and equipment operators as required by the project site Prepare and deliver work instructions to the crew at the start of daily shifts Ensure crew members are paired properly in order to maximize efficiency and safety Perform daily work site inspections monitoring safety and quality of work Communicate work progress, schedule variance, crew and safety performance to the site supervision Prepare and submit daily timesheets on behalf of the crew and provide them work instructions Perform human resources-related duties for the crew including recruitment, hiring, as well as recommending disciplinary actions.Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity Train or arrange for training of workers

Qualifications
5+ years' experience supervising in mechanical pipeline construction focusing on Tie InsPrevious extensive experience in Grade / Civil, Ditching, Stringing, Bending, and/or Lowering In highly regarded Ability to supervise crews from 5 - 50 individuals depending on assigned project Previous experience working with pipe larger than 36"Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing Must be willing and able to obtain valid PCST (Pipeline Construction Safety Training), First Aid Lvl C with CPR, Professional Driver Improvement Training, and Ground Disturbance Lvl 2 certificates Must possess a valid form of government issued photo identification Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision Must be willing and able to provide a valid driver abstract

Overview

Pembina's Transmission Pipelines Business Unit is currently seeking a number of Mechanical and E/I Tradesman as well as Pipeline Operators to support their Alberta Ethane Gathering System (AEGS).

Summary of Responsibilities

* Perform various assignments related to health, safety and the environment in compliance with company standards and adhere to Pembina's Safety Culture of "Zero by Choice";
* Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing accepted company and industry safety practices;
* Perform and assist with pipeline maintenance activities and participate in ERP exercises;
* Maintaining valves, filters, meters, and pump station equipment for pump stations along the pipeline system;
* Supporting construction and maintenance through decommissioning and recommissioning pipelines;
* Lock out of equipment and working in collaboration with Electrical and Operations groups;
* Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new equipment;
* Coordinating and providing operations for cleaning and inline inspection runs of the lines within the designated areas;
* Interfacing with customers and suppliers in coordination of pipeline operations;
* Interfacing with landowners and industry when unauthorized activity poses a threat to the pipelines;
* Monitoring and patrolling pipelines, logging patrols and operational information as required;
* Responding to Alberta first calls, aerial surveillance, and completing pipeline crossings as required;
* Completing the contractual documentation regarding Third Party crossings;
* Managing contractors in the completion of maintenance work;
* Interfacing with the Sherwood Park Control Centre Panel Operators to address operational needs;
* Maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, customers and land owners on an ongoing basis;
* Providing 24 hour on call service on a rotational basis; and
* Participate in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

* A High School Diploma or equivalent; preference will be given to those with a Power Engineering ticker or other Oil and Gas related tickets;
* Journeyman Tradesman Tickets in Electrical, Instrumentation, Millwright or Mechanics are considered an asset;
* 5+ years related experience (pipeline, gas plant, refinery or production);
* Demonstrated aptitude in all aspects of ground disturbance practices;
* SAP Plant Maintenance software knowledge and use;
* Working knowledge of MS Office and other business related computer programs and applications;
* Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
* A valid Class 5 Driver's License; and
* Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid, ICS 100/200 would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by company to the successful candidate.

**POSITION OVERVIEW:**

The Pipeliner is responsible for supporting day to day construction, maintenance, and operations activities on the pipelines and facilities located in their district. The Pipeliner will work with technical personnel and the Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor to ensure their work is planned and carried out to keep the system operating in a safe, cost-efficient manner

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Assist mowing crew to clean and maintain right-of-ways

+ Become familiar with pipelines, block valve locations, stations, and other assets

+ Assist with pipeline repairs, construction activities, and various maintenance items

+ Assist with leak clean-up and remediation when necessary

+ Support pipeline cleaning and pigging activities

+ Become familiar with other pipeline roles to provide occasional back-up

+ Complete training as required including DOT Operator Qualification and OSHA safety

+ Works effectively without supervision

+ Communicates well with employees from all areas of the facility

**REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**

+ High school diploma or GED/equivalent

+ Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record

+ Effective communication skills

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written plans with attention to detail

+ Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and perform work in all weather conditions

+ Basic knowledge of computers and able to use email and Microsoft Office suite

+ Must be willing to work overtime and occasional overnight travel may be required

+ Able to work assigned shift schedule, holidays and overtime and available to be on-call

+ Ability to complete and pass O.Q. training and promote safe work in all environments

+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment

+ Class A CDL
