What You'll Be Doing:

+ Invent and innovate low power architectural/RTL solutions and drive features and roadmaps for improving efficiency of our Desktop, Notebook and server platforms

+ You'll work multi-functional with other System/SW Architects, and Product engineers to understand energy efficiency improvements

+ Participate in architectural studies, tradeoff analysis, micro-architecture, and design, planning, verification, and validation efforts

+ Contribute to the development of techniques to develop highly accurate power and performance models for our GPUs, CPUs, Switches, and platforms

+ Drive performance vs power analysis to enable management/marketing with significant product decisions and customer interaction

What We Need To See:

+ BSEE (or equivalent experience) and 4+ years' of relevant experience, or MSEE/MSCE and 2 + years' meaningful experience, or PhD, with a specialization in Low Power Architectures or energy efficient design techniques

+ Design experience with industry tools such as System Verilog RTL, UVM, Verdi, UPF, VCS NLP, Python, C++

+ Cross-discipline experience with understanding of HW/SW/System level interactions in important power efficiency scenarios

+ Solid understanding of advanced digital and analog circuits

+ Exposure to lab setup including power measurement equipment such as scope/DAQ. Your ability to analyze board-level power issues like supply voltage, over-current etc

+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability & desire to work as an excellent teammate

**Description**

Imagine yourself at the center of our SOC design effort, collaborating with all fields, playing a strategic role of getting functional products to millions of customers quickly. Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and qualify SiC power modules for use in Solid State Circuit Breakers (SSCB)
  • Responsible for the full life cycle of power modules, including design, fabrication, qualification, supplier management, component datasheet, and parameter validation
  • Establish power semiconductor roadmap and deliver on goals driving performance, cost and reliability
  • Work with external labs and product safety organizations to assure compliance with relevant standards
  • Develop and execute product qualification and reliability plans
  • Build and test prototype systems
  • Work with contract manufacturers to establish a manufacturing process that delivers on performance and reliability goals
  • Support manufacturing process with test plans, on-sight troubleshooting, and build verification
  • Work closely with Atom Power engineering team to assure power modules meet product requirements and assist in end-product testing
  • Work closely with leading R&D centers at university and industry to stay current with the latest technical trends
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in electrical engineering or solid-state physics
  • + 5 years experience in power module design
  • Strong knowledge of SiC, and GaN MOSFET technologies
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing power semiconductor reliability plans
  • Experience with design, development, and qualification of power semiconductors
  • Functional knowledge of datasheet parameters and device characterization
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of power modules
  • FMEA experience, both system, and component level evaluations
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor failure modes, ability to define weak points in various semiconductor technologies with the goal of establishing robust qualification and reliability process
