1. Adheres to Integer values and all safety and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
2. Uses measuring tools, measuring machines and electronic instruments to perform inspections in accordance with authorized specification and quality control standards.
3. Assists Engineers in the development of new measurement systems/processes, and in new applications of existing processes
4. Performs troubleshooting and makes recommendations to develop solutions for routine and nonroutine technical problems.
5. Performs qualifications, repairs, and modifications of in-process tooling/equipment and measurement equipment.
6. Collects and provides detailed data to assist process development decisions.
7. Assist engineers in execution of process characterization and validation activities (IQ/TMV/OQ/PQ)
8. Prepares, reviews, and completes necessary Device History Record documentation and ensures paperwork compliance on controlled builds.
9. Creates and maintains quality records associated to internal and external customer needs.
10. Assists in allocation of materials required for scheduled builds

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree in a technical field or other technical degree preferred. Minimum Experience: 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or regulated industry. Specialized Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret drawings/prints. Has basic knowledge in the use of hand gages, tool scopes and height stands. Experience measuring physical dimensions on parts. Advanced knowledge of GD&T. Experience with Vision-based CMM systems. Special Skills: Ability to read and understand work instructions. Strong verbal communication and organizational skills.

What You Will Achieve

The Assistant Process Development Technician will work within a microbial fermentation process development laboratory, under the direct supervision of a scientific lead. Primary interactions will be within the fermentation process development team.

How You Will Achieve It

• Conduct a variety of experiments using lab fermenters and shake flasks, under the supervision of lead scientist, with detailed written instructions.
• Follow the progress of experiments and operations by various analytical procedures or instruments. Notify scientist if process deviates from normal or expected values.
• Report results both orally and by recording using electronic Lab Notebook. Use standard computer applications.
• Assist in maintenance of media, consumables, and equipment parts supplies.
• Plan/organize daily tasks. Maintain area and equipment in clean, safe, functional order. Participate in safety reviews and inspections.
• Interact as needed with other areas within the department.
• Adhere to safe work practices, such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment including lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position involves considerable standing in the laboratory and working with the hands and arms.
• Normal sitting, standing, walking and lifting ability. Will be handling multiple 11 kg lab fermenters.
• Must be able to work around a variety of chemical and biological materials.
• Laboratory work is generally in a climate-controlled environment.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work non-regular schedules as needed to accommodate the timing of laboratory procedures.
• Overtime and weekend work will be required.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years' experience
• Basic math and computer skills, such as data entry, along with a high level of attention to detail
• Understanding of equipment, instrumentation, and computer applications
• High productivity and the ability to multi-task coupled with a low error rate
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills within a diverse team setting

Nice-to-Have

• Associates Degree in a science related field
• Previous experience in a microbiology laboratory environment including aseptic technique is desirable.
