is currently looking for an Application Engineer based at our facility in
Baton Rouge, LA.
The position will be responsible for sales and customer support of fluid process equipment and services. In this position you will specifically prepare proposals and quotes of pumps and mixers to provide technical solutions for customers. This is to be accomplished by working as a team with the outside sales Account Managers and inside support staff. A key objective is to maximize the company's profit margins while maintaining a positive relationship with our customers and suppliers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn the products that we represent, their appropriate applications, their strengths and weaknesses as well as our competitor's capabilities
  • Learn each supplier's sizing and selection program or procedure
  • Develop quotations for our customers for our equipment and maintain the files
  • Enter orders in our order handling system after review of customer order to confirm consistency with our proposal
  • Develop working relationships with our suppliers' factory personnel
  • Develop relationships with our customers so that they think of our Company first for their rotating equipment needs
  • Work with our customers to resolve any warranty issues should they occur


The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Mechanical degree preferred or equivalent combination work experience, training and/or education
  • At least two years in an inside sales or technical support role in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably in the fluid processing industry

Processor Applications Engineer

Job Description:

As a member of the DSP Applications team, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems while helping to develop and deploy various audio processing frameworks and solutions on our embedded single and multi-core DSP SHARC+ processors. We work closely with our customers and partners to define system requirements and develop proof of concept demonstrations to showcase ADI processor technology. Tasks also include assisting in benchmarking, code optimization, generation of collateral, and debug issues in complex software systems.

We are looking for a processor applications engineer with good embedded software development skills along with problem solving abilities. This person should be good at debugging and be able to formulate tests to identify root causes of issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Computer Engineering or related field
* Fluency with C programming and familiarity with C++ and Python programming languages
* Knowledge in operating systems concepts
* Knowledge in computer architecture concepts including memory organization, shared usage, hierarchy, and cache
* Experience with Git, SVN or other repository systems
* Experience with digital signal processing (DSP)
* Ability to write, test, and debug low-level code (microcontroller)
* Basic knowledge of TCP/IP

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with embedded communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, I2S
* Experience with audio processing

Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Process & Refractory Application Engineer to provide technical support for Allied Mineral Technical Services (AMTS), Allied Mineral Products Blast Furnace group, and customers in North and South America.
This includes:

* Review and processing of customer's thermal data in Excel.
* Statistical evaluation of blast furnace, cupolas, submerged arc furnaces and hot blast stove thermal data and process conditions.
* Prepare scope of work documents for site activities.
* Work closely with the project site teams to clarify furnace lining conditions, and installation details.
* Evaluation of both new and existing refractory systems.
* Conduct on-site inspections and interact with the customer at different levels of the customers organization.
* Respond to questions and problems from customers and sales representatives that are refractory, application, and product design related.
* Co-ordinate efforts for internal and/or customer report generation with research data for specific projects through either AMTS or AMP's Product Services Department & Research team as necessary.
* Participate in technical training within the company and through external sources to expand your knowledge base.
* Support senior AMTS personal with preparing estimates and quotations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Ceramic, Material Science, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or other related field required, or equivalent experience.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and statistical analysis.

Key Duties:

* Review, perform data analysis (statistical analysis), and thermal calculations for various systems (blast furnace, stoves, and cupolas).
* Prepare findings in PowerPoint presentations and communicate data and findings to customers either through on-site visits or electronic resources. Report and communicate data internally through meetings, discussions, PowerPoint presentations, emails and other media as required.
* Prepare scope of work for core drilling, grouting, instrumentation installation, and field inspections of jobs to the executed.
* Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and the AMTS Engineering team. This duty will include technical assistance in the following areas: product recommendation, quality evaluation and discussions with Sales. Effectively communicating requirements and results between involved parties is essential.
* Coordinate work with subcontractors and customers to install refractories or systems related to refractories. This work may include site inspections in systems which contain refractories, for example: Blast Furnaces, Hot Blast Mains, Bustle Pipes, Hot Blast Stoves, Chimneys, Reheat Furnaces, Incinerators, Coke Batteries, submerged arc furnaces, cement kilns and Cupolas.
* Technical support to the site team when installations at different facilities take place and assist with on-site inspections if required.

Work Environment:

* Work out of home-based office and factory environments.
* Factory work environments may be dusty, hot, or cold depending on jobsite conditions.
