The Machine Operator is responsible for managing batch record documentation, operating and maintaining pouch filling machinery, and ensuring accurate preparation of ingredients. This role requires a meticulous approach to handling equipment, being detail-oriented, following precise procedures, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma required. Associates degree in science, math, or mechanical engineering preferred.
A minimum of 3 years complex machine operation experience required

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Record and complete batch record documents
Set up pouch filling machine, operate PLC/HMI interface and changeover/clean intricate pieces of the assembly
Determine batch characteristics, type and weight of ingredients to be used
Select, pre-weigh ingredients to specification and to reconcile ingredient usage for each batch
Wash and sanitize mixing tanks and other equipment as necessary
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Walking, standing, stooping and bending for long periods of time
Must be able to pick up 50 lbs
Must be able to work both in climate controlled and outdoor environments
Comfortable with exposure to confined areas and chemicals

Role Overview:

* Perform set-ups, tool changes, offsets, and run production on various CNC and non-CNC machines
* Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to include reduction of setup times and improvements in quality and throughput utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques

* Read and understand process operation sheets, tooling sheets, tech plans and associated documents
* Work from blue prints and work instructions to produce parts

Required Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED
* A minimum of 1 year of full time manufacturing experience with manual or Computer Numerical Controlled machining using milling, turning, lasering and grinding processes or
* An associate's degree or higher in a manufacturing or engineering discipline (for example, Computer Integrated Machining or Engineering Technology) including graduation from any recognized machinist or toolmaker apprenticeship or certification program
* Must be willing to work Weekend Shift
* Must successfully complete pre-employment physical/drug screen and on-going random drug screens
Preferred Qualifications:
* The ability to work from layouts and dimensions on drawings and read manual gauges
* The ability to load, align, and set up machine per drawing instructions and maintain quality production records

**During your rotating shift as a Production Technician, you will**
+ Use product recipes to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels including the PSM process.
+ Have knowledge of raw materials and the hazards, locations, etc. of those raw materials and knowledgeable of the process equipment.
+ Use interface screens to the process control system to add exact quantities of chemicals to match product recipes, follow step by step batch instructions, and take samples as required.
+ Load drums, totes, cylinders, and tank trucks with the final product.
+ Unload raw materials via rail car to bulk storage, tank truck to bulk storage tank, tank truck to tote, and box vans of drums & totes.
+ Follow standard operating procedures to unload and check-in various raw materials for production.
+ Be an integral part of the site's safety culture. This individual is responsible for certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Operator I will also be required to master a certain number of standard operating procedure.
+ Train in Department of Transportation (DOT). This individual must be able to understand hazard communication and DOT OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling.
+ Understand how to use personal protective equipment to perform all necessary job functions within the process.
+ Be able to become a certified forklift driver.

What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Production operator job in Spartanburg, SC
OpSource of Spartanburg has partnered with a local Snack Food Company in the Spartanburg, SC area. We are currently looking for Machine Operator.
Gathering correct film rolls needed for the day's production.
Load the packaging film into the machine and adjust the machine settings appropriate for that product; run test bags until settings are correct.
Continually monitor several machines simultaneously for proper operation.
Make adjustments to settings as needed.
Monitor the flow of product from the cook room to ensure the correct amount of product is produced with minimal overages and shortages.
Communicate frequently with the fryer operators and the palletizers via radio.
Keep your work area neat and free of debris during operating hours.
Return unused film rolls to their correct storage area.
Qualifications for this position:
Must be energetic, interested, have good communication skills, want to learn and grow with the job, and be a team player - willing to do whatever is needed to get product produced correctly and efficiently.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
At times you will be required to pack boxes, keep production area clean, or perform other packaging-related tasks as needed.
Attention to detail, pride in your work, positive attitude, good attendance, and reliable transportation REQUIRED.
Hours for this position:
7:15a -3:30pm or until (6-7pm)
