    Student employees will support the Theater & Dance department's productions, specifically in the areas of technical production, as required by a specific production's needs. This position will be specialized toward the technology components of the theatrical process (lighting, sound, video, etc.), but will also have crossover with the scenic and carpentry responsibilities as needed. This position will also support the technology needs for campus events taking place in the Kaleidoscope (lectures, dinners, ceremonies, etc.) Work is done in the Kaleidoscope's scene shop, Lenfest Theater, and Blackbox Studio Theater, under the direct supervision of the Theater & Dance department's Technical Director & Production Manager and Performing Arts Technician. Schedule may vary weekly. Some evening and weekend hours will likely be required during a production's load in period and tech weekend, and during campus events taking place in the building. Typical work week may average between 12 and 20 hours. Responsibilities: Learn and practice a variety of skills (depending on the needs of the production) primarily including hanging and focusing lights, setting up microphones and speakers, and (as needed for the production), scenic carpentry, metalworking, scenic painting, and theatrical rigging. Support the technology needs for campus events taking place in the Kaleidoscope (lectures, dinners, ceremonies, etc.) Train on the theaters fly-system and operation along with other specified theatrical equipment. Help with the set-up of both theater spaces for rehearsal and technical rehearsals. Assist in scheduled maintenance and organization of shop and theater gear and equipment. SUMMARY: Operates machines that perform candy wrapping, bagging and packaging functions. Set up guides, adjust for proper speed, and is responsible for product being weighed, fed in and packaged. Signal to determine switch of positions on line, following recommended rotation procedures. Perform machine and product changeovers. Troubleshoot minor stoppages and correct as necessary. Troubleshoot package quality, completely review issues and make necessary adjustments in a timely manner. Assemble, adjust, and operate, as scheduled. Record production downtime and labor on production report and labor sheets. Order supplies and candy for future schedule. Inspect & sort candy following QA guidelines, weigh X-pack bags, Animal Feed and Compost. Problem solve such as troubleshooting and machine diagnosis. Oversee 6S inspection of work area. Oversee team of up to 13 people, rotating responsibilities as needed. Record scrap, complete discard sheets, RTV forms, hold paperwork, required process control check sheets Responsible for schedule attainment, efficiency, safety and quality of the Thurlings team. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Communicate with co-workers and operator counterparts during shift change regarding equipment, changeover, product and personnel issues as well as efficiency and productivity issues.
