Summary
The primary role of the Production Operator is to manufacture quality products in a safe manner.

Summary:

Responsibilities:

Ensure operator training is consistently and effectively taking place, gauge operator skills and capabilities, ensure training and line assignments align accordingly, and create and review instruction manuals
Conduct quarterly operator evaluations to track growth and development
Provide a line of communication between the Production Supervisor and the line workers
Inspect materials and machines to identify maintenance needs and create daily maintenance check sheets
Troubleshoot and repair production machines, report all downtime issues, and escalate maintenance issues as appropriate
Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with safety and environmental laws, regulations, or policies
Implement operational and emergency procedures
Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs
Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas

It is often loud instead the plant due to machinery. PPE is required such as hard hat, safety glasses, high vis, steel toed shoes, and gloves when needed. The Manufacturing Machine Operator operator is responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials.
Mechanical experience is a plus as the machines do break down and it is helpful to do what we can without calling maintenance.
Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards
Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance
Monitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occur
Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
Prepare various documents and reports
Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs such as motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, conveyors, and more.
Prepare and complete required paperwork

Six months operating small equipment experience preferred (hilo, loader, forklift, scissor lift)

General production environment. Requires mostly standing and walking. Minimal fine handling and finger manipulation. The greatest hazard is noise pollution, everyone is required to wear hearing protection and safety glasses upon entering the floor.
