Duties and Responsibilities Pull and review work instructions prior to starting a job. Review production priorities. Ensure that all necessary information and tools required for each job are in place before work begins. Retrieves product for trimming or assembly and moves to designated areas when complete. Machine Operator III - All 3 shifts SUMMARY - Set-up, adjust and safely operate on a variety of machines to cut and slot partitions from several types of roll stock to specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work from pattern to mount and adjust dies, guides, feed, speed, tension, etc. Recognize any and all operating problems and make adjustments to accommodate subtle stock variations, worn dies, humidity, etc. May move and change rolls, make routine machine repairs, including lubrication. Description: The Machine Shop Machine Operator manufactures machined products, focusing on machine operation, machine set-up, equipment maintenance, process monitoring, productivity, quality, continuous improvement and safety. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Primary function to operate all assigned production equipment including startup, shutdown, light set-up, materials handling, and feeding of production for machines including manual and/or computer controlled turning and machining centers such as Burgmaster, CNC vertical mills, and lathes, Swiss lathes, manual machining equipment, auxiliary support systems, new and specialty equipment. Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances. Operate machining equipment to produce products by cutting materials including finishing, grinding, polishing, sharpening, drilling, beveling and create relief. Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Perform light maintenance functions including change machine filters, check and grease machine slides, check and change coolant, scrap removal between materials changes.
