Profile grinder technician job description

In this position you will be responsible for performing precision grinding duties to accommodate all machine operations throughout the Wood Processing product group. Our Grinding Technicians are responsible for maintaining the blades that are used in our moulders in our Wood Processing product group.
Highlights of your role

Use of essential tools to perform grinding procedures on heads that are in need to keep all operational functions going in WPPG to meet all scheduled needs
Use of essential calibration tools to ensure quality driven functions
Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs 10-15 times daily

The ability to communicate in oral or written English to carry out essential grinding functions, and work with operators to provide assistants when needed
Willingness to learn and be cross trained in various areas of the tool room
The ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

Your schedule details

Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm, and any required overtime

Principal Accountabilities

• 50% - Complete monitoring / verifying knowledge of two or more TS monitoring area(s).
• 25% - SOP training sign off for general TS training and for all monitoring checks in two or more area(s).
• 15% - Competency Training - Acceptable direct observation per SOP training Sign off
• 10% - Other duties assigned

Required Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Must have Microsoft Excel Skills
• Able to lift, pull, and push 40 pounds
• Have the flexibility and availability for shift coverage based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Past food safety/quality experience in the processing industry
• Leadership experience in a processing facility environment
