The CDC Foundation is working with CDC and state and local authorities to provide surge staffing that is crucial to the nation's COVID-19 response including support for implementation of Covid-19 vaccine. We are seeking candidates for the Project Manager role.

The Project Manager will assist in the overall management of the Schools Team under the supervision of the School Program Lead for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). This Project Manager will serve as a point of contact to all schools and districts interested in information about the California K-12 School Testing Program. Additionally, this individual will serve as a liaison between schools and all vendors that provide testing services to the State of California. The position will provide technical assistance to schools and districts to assist them in making testing strategy choices. In addition, the candidate will optimize and improve all processes related to enrollment, training, and tracking of involved districts, liaise with all involved stakeholders to ensure the success of the project, and assess any upcoming needs of the project development.

Special Notes: This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. The Project Manager will be responsible for the administrative management of projects for a specific client from inception to close. Key functions include the development, execution, and development of project plans. This includes logistics management and working across departments to ensure adequate technical oversite and proper resource allocation. The key objective of the project manager is to ensure timely client communication in all matters relating to the execution of current and future work; documentation and that communication records associated with client-SGS interaction are maintained. Furthermore, the project manager, through coordination with the appropriate departments, will manage all sample logistics from receipt to release.
Establish project plans in collaboration with the client and internal resources

Coordination of samples, and facilitation of project workflow

Track multi-disciplinary project teams for the execution of customer projects. This includes the responsibility and accountability for project initiation, planning, execution/implementation, controlling monitoring, and closeout

Function as primary interface with the Customer regarding the day-to-day/weekly progress and status reporting and keep internal resources aligned with client priorities

Work with SGS management and cross-functional Project Team members to ensure all resources are available to meet the agreed-upon timelines defined in the Project Scope

Work with operations to maintain detailed project plans

Work with operational management through the use of Lean and 5S principles to, drive efficiency and effectiveness

Report and escalate potential deviations to the plan to the Department Managers with suggestions for action

Coordinate internal and external Project Team Meetings to ensure that all stakeholders and the customer are working in accordance with the agreed-to Project Plan

Responsible for coordinating, arranging, and preparation of customer meetings on-site for the purpose of project team execution can include campaign reviews, ad-hoc process-related meetings, etc.

Maintain meeting minutes and action lists resulting from technical and other external and internal project-related meetings

Ensure the successful completion of owned projects and resolve any issues that may hinder project success

Utilize site escalation process when necessary to resolve any project team issues. In addition, effectively lead the project team while maintaining good morale

Tracking and reporting of projects in accordance with an approved Project Plan (includes tasking, task owners, dependencies, and timelines)

Tracking of test sample status, OOSs, deviations, and CAPAs

Track agreed upon Key Project Related Performance Indicators

Track analyst hours spent and pass-through costs for the project. Incorporate charges into billing notes to ensure accurate billing of all project costs, including PM fees

Track work completed against PO and SOW for the project. Report any scope creep to the appropriate department and address such with client

Request additional quotes when needed to ensure all work is captured and appropriate POs are obtained for billing purposes

The Project Manager is responsible for coaching the assigned Project Team members in close collaboration with line management to ensure Project Team success.

Eurofins Environment Testing - Calscience has an Project Manager I / II opening at our brand new state-of-the-art Tustin Laboratory. Level of position is commensurate with candidate experience.

The Project Manager I / II will work with Account Managers (Sales), other Project Managers, and the Laboratory Director to communicate client expectations, and data or quality concerns. They are accountable for coordinating and managing clients' projects through all phases of laboratory operations, including project set-up and maintenance, login review, communication of analytical issues, client account maintenance, reporting, invoicing, bottle orders, client pickups, and identification of work share facilities. The Project Manager role fosters and develops client relationships in support of the laboratory mission.
* Demonstrates active leadership and promotes the company vision
* Regular attendance and punctuality to support client service
* Responsible for daily reporting of finalized reports and communication with clients
* Maintain customer data base in LIMS, ensure projects are updated, all info in the LIMS is accurate and useful
* Engage with assistance to ensure customer deliverables are achieved and develop teamwork
* Interact with operations and sales staff cooperatively to improve and optimize work flow, project set up and requirements and client satisfaction "fit-for-purpose"
* Accept more challenging assignments, complex or larger clients, and work to develop a strong working relationship.

* Work with Project Manager Assistant to set up projects, bottle orders, invoices
* Sign final reports and work with lab staff in coordination of incoming work
* Demonstrate an ongoing focus on client satisfaction by meeting expected turnaround times and managing personal backlog
* Attend department meetings and participate fully
* Engage in clients and look to visit 1-2 clients quarterly
* Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner and aligned to company health and safety policy, as amended from time to time and in compliance with Eurofins quality standards
* Performs other duties as assigned
* 3-5 years' experience in Client Services
* Minimum BS degree in science field with minimum 12 units of chemistry and/or biology coursework
* Ability to demonstrate an ongoing focus on client satisfaction and meet expected turnaround times
* Demonstrated commitment to availability to clients by presence and timely response
* Ability to work with Account Managers (Sales), other Project Managers, and the Laboratory Director to communicate client expectations, and data or quality concerns
* Basic technical understanding of many aspects of the laboratory, regulatory requirements, and specific method requirements
* Basic understanding of the laboratory business and inter-departmental relationships
* Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations
* Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Requires attention to details and good documentation skills
* Must have computer (Word, Excel) and office related skills
