What the role entails
- Contact suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries (expedite)
- Generate quotes/bids from requisitions
- Enter and issue purchase orders to suppliers via email
- Work with suppliers to solve delivery issues
- Assist with ERP system information integrity by reviewing PO’s
- Expedite material based on needs
- Responsible for the purchase of MRO items
- Confirms shipping dates with vendors
- Monitors shipping notices to avoid potential problems with deliveries
- Assigns tracers to shipments to identify delays once order is in transit
- Maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expedited shipping of an order
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1-2 years’ experience data entry
- Supply chain certification preferred
- Manufacturing related experience preferred
$19.11 -$25.82 an hour

• Maintaining positive partnerships with vendors;
• Maintaining positive partnerships with branch personnel;
• Maintaining cost data, vendor files, and purchase orders;
• Monitors shipping notices to avoid potential problems with deliveries;
• Reports major shipping problems to purchasing agent;
• Assigns tracers to shipments to identify delays once order is in transit;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will:
+ Preferably have a bachelor's degree or allied college-level coursework;
+ Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
+ Possess excellent attention to detail;
+ Be an effective communicator with co-workers and vendors in written and oral modes;
+ Work effectively in a team environment and independently;
+ Be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
