Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to verify that products meet required standards. Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods. Record inspection results accurately and communicate nonconformances to appropriate personnel. Support Shipping & Receiving by inspecting incoming and outgoing products when required. Maintain and organize quality logs, including Nonconforming Material (NCM) records, Returned Material Authorization (RMA) records, and scrap tracking logs. Shifts Available: 2nd Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts and components to ensure they meet specified quality standards. Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, and other quality parameters. Identify and report any deviations from quality standards and work with production teams to address and resolve issues. Print Reading: Interpret and accurately read engineering drawings, prints, and specifications. Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure compliance with design requirements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions taken. Generate quality reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and other departments to address quality concerns and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and contribute to process optimization. Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that inspection equipment and measuring tools are properly calibrated and maintained. Perform regular checks on equipment to guarantee accuracy in measurements. Quality Procedures and Compliance: Adhere to established quality control procedures and protocols. Stay updated on industry standards and changes in quality requirements. Skills & Qualifications: 2+ years of previous experience in a quality role, preferably in a machine shop environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and technical drawings. Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators. Ability to operate CMMs, vision systems, round test, surface testing equipment, and all other inspection tools & equipment as may be required. Understanding of quality management systems and standards. Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately follow work instructions. Good computer skills with proficiency & accuracy in performing data entry. Effective decision making and problem-solving skills with a drive for results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A collaborative mindset that focuses on teamwork. A positive attitude and exceptional aptitude for growing your skills. Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize time-sensitive projects/tasks according to changing schedules and tight timeframes. Knowledge of basic mathematics (arithmetic & geometry) as well as basic knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and related application to a process Vision corrected to 20/20. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
