Railroad Track Install and Maintenance
We are seeking people with experience working outdoors in a physical environment who like being part of a team. Individuals will install and maintain rail tracks while being given the opportunity for advancement. We provide a good starting pay with lots of overtime if interested.
This position is 75% Travel throughout the state of Florida (Lodging, Mileage Reimbursement and Per Diem provided).
Responsibilities:
+ Works as a crew member to maintain, repair, and replace rails, ties, switches, and ballast
+ This person uses hand tools and operates heavy equipment
+ Repair and rebuild railroad track using hydraulic or hand tools
+ Remove and replace ties and rails; pull and drive spikes; shovel rock ballast; load and unload equipment and material
+ Use various types of tools and equipment, including tampers, regulators, backhoes, torches, hammers, jacks, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools
+ Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot problems on equipment
+ Complete written forms and reports, including FRA reports, as required
+ Be familiar with federal and state regulations as they relate to the railroad industry
+ Ability to update rules and manuals to assure continuous compliance with all federal regulations
+ Adhere to and promote safe work practices as determined by the railroad
+ Manage other projects and perform other duties as assigned
What's Required:
+ High School Diploma/GED or Ability
+ Experience with Track Repair (Preferred but not required)
+ Safety first mentality
+ Ability to work in all weather conditions and in confined areas
+ Able to meet attendance requirements
+ A team work, can do attitude and willing to learn
+ Valid state driver's license
