Americorps reading assistant job description
Reading Assist Fellows serve in elementary schools across Delaware, providing one-on-one reading instruction to students in kindergarten through third grade who face significant reading challenges. Fellows teach foundational reading skills to students who might never learn to read through traditional classroom education. Fellows work with up to 8 students for 30-45 minutes each day and meet with an experienced coach every week for support and feedback. The Reading Assist Fellowship, an AmeriCorps program, requires 1200 service hours (900 if part-time) to be completed between August 15, 2022, and June 9, 2023 or September 6, 2022, and June 9, 2023. Fellows begin with five weeks of full-time, graduate-level training (conducted online) and then are embedded into high-needs elementary schools in Delaware. Rotating - 08 Hour (United States of America)
**This is a Stanford Health Care job.**
**A Brief Overview**
With limited supervision, this individual will perform ancillary tasks that allow radiologists to focus on their primary clinical functions. These tasks include handling outgoing communications (such as notification of clinicians for critical, urgent, and unexpected findings) and incoming communications (such as walk-in and phone call requests from referring physicians for preliminary findings and verbal consults). The individual will also monitor reading room and radiologist activities to include regulatory and policy compliance and service standards. By preparing and analyzing the critical metrics in the entire imaging process (exam request to final report), the individual will make data-driven suggestions to improve the delivery of care.

**What you will do**
+ Contacts referring clinicians and connects them to radiologists as needed; all requests will be tracked and validated for quality assurance
+ Serves as telephone triage person for incoming calls to radiologists and transfers to appropriate service/individuals
+ Acts as liaison for ED physicians needing to contact radiologist over lunch hour
+ Acts as liaison to technologists needing to contact radiologist for a STAT read
+ Responds to requests from radiologists when they need to contact hospital personnel (Central IT, Radiology IT, GE, etc.) regarding work equipment issues or study status issues (technologists) that prevent timely interpretation and creation of a report

+ Service the ED with providing one number and one main person to interface with on a regular basis

+ Troubleshoots problem reports so that they are correctly assigned
+ Sends reminder to radiologists with overdue unsigned reports
+ Checks daily radiation dose compliance report
