The Leak Repair Technician is responsible for detecting, locating, evaluating and repairing leaks onsite at client work sites.
Essential Job Functions
Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM's Core Values.Assesses leaking component(s) and reports on findings to supervisory personnel and engineering.Performs leak repair operations that may include any of the following techniques and tasks:Drill and tap Wire and band Clamp and enclosure installation Measuring components Stand-by operations Inspections of components Evaluation of performance on repair activities Identifies circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety equipment.Performs appropriate documentation and administrative procedures as required.Communicates and collaborates with field personnel, client representatives and management.Maintains awareness of company products and services available to customers.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school or related education preferred.Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial operations or maintenance role preferred.Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice. Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines. Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferred. Ability to follow precise directions and procedures of the supervisor on the project. Must possess a valid driver's license. Work Conditions
Position is based out of a branch or site location.Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis

Characteristics of Work

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for building and repairs, primarily bridges, in support of District construction and maintenance.

Examples of Work

The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed. No attempt is made to be exhaustive. Related, similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned. The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer.

* Build and finish carpentry jobs such as framing, form building, and outside and inside finishing.
* Repair and construct bridges within the District.
* Construct and repair guard rails.
* Work on road crews.
* Remove snow and ice during inclement weather.
* Load, unload and stack bags of salt, sand, cement, chemicals, etc.
* Train and provide direct assistance to Bridge Repairers.

Minimum Requirements

The educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records. Ability to read blueprints and perform basic mathematics. Demonstrated skill and knowledge of carpentry techniques. Ability and knowledge to work with steel including the use of cutting torch, welder, drills, and air-operated wrenches. Knowledge of traffic control. Ability and knowledge to rig scaffolds, slings, and blocks and tackle. Ability to paint and knowledge of paint equipment and methods. Ability and knowledge to work with concrete including concrete mixers, finishing, jackhammers, and reinforcing steel. Effective leadership and communication skills. Valid Class A commercial driver's license with a tanker ("N") endorsement. A pre-employment drug/alcohol test will be conducted after a contingent offer of employment or transfer has been made, and prior to the candidate performing any work for the Department in that capacity. Internal applicants who are already in a safety-sensitive position will not be subject to pre-employment drug/alcohol testing; however, offers to internal applicants who are not in a safety-sensitive position will be contingent upon pre-employment drug/alcohol testing. Additional Minimum Requirements - Heavy Bridge Maintenance
