The Returns Processor must be capable to perform all functions associated with Returns (Pre-Receive, Scan, Sort, Pallet Build and Rework) so to facilitate the process of customer returns as efficiently, accurately and timely as possible. The candidate will need to quickly learn to operate in two systems, JDE and SAP, to properly perform required transactions at each of the steps within the Returns process. The candidate must consistently meet or exceed minimum productivity standards set forth by management. A high awareness of safety and housekeeping is expected to be maintained in all tasks performed.
Pre-Scan: Sign for incoming deliveries. Pre-scan of trailers received in returns with accuracy and efficiency. Uses and fully understands the book of accounts provided by credit and management. Correctly fill out the proper forms for each shipment pre-scanned in, and provide the correct documentation for each shipment to clerk.
Scan: Scan incoming cartons from designated pallets. Pre-sort product into assigned bins by category after it is scanned into system. Identify product that is not saleable and needs to be disposed, Identify non hazardous vs. hazardous items for appropriate disposal if needed. Speed and accuracy at scanning items, must be achieved.
Sort: Identify by SKU (Parent or brand) and sort product accurately and efficiently into totes in the flow racks. Waste Disposal - The ability to collect and document all SKU's, Qty's, pallets and weight in process to be dispose, based on Hazardous and Non-Hazardous properly to meet Virginia regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties:
- In this position, the employee will perform the more advanced general warehouse duties to include making adjustments in the computer system; operating machinery; processing; shrink-wrapping product; operating a stretch-wrapping machine, and performing short picker duties while meeting production requirements, following appropriate instructions and safety methods associated with the department they are assigned to.
- Selects carton of returned merchandise from the pallet, opens with a razor knife, unpacks all books and paperwork, keeping the books and documentation together, and places it on the conveyor at the processing station by shipped from address. Uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) to process (Scan) each piece of returned merchandise by ISBN number, locate by tote number to the Bin locations and make adjustments for damaged books.
- Keeps each shipped from address together on one Return Authorization Number (RA) to assign credit for the returned merchandise.
- Puts returned merchandise in the correct bin location according to the transaction instruction in the tote that came from the processing station.
- Removes full case quantity from the bin, shrink-wraps the case, and locates it in the rack location.
- Keeps the bin locations neat and orderly at all times.
- Operates shrink-wrap machine to incase correct carton quantity of books to be returned to inventory.
- Brick stack returned merchandise as needed.
- Separates returned merchandise that has been placed in hurt status.
- Refurbishes the returned merchandise as needed.
- Locates book jackets and keeps appropriate documentation.
- Removes returned merchandise from hurt status to available status using WMS.
- Weighs each carton and use WMS to update the Keyrec log with weights; create a Batch Record in WMS to identify each receipt by Keyrec number. Records in WMS to identify each receipt by Keyrec number.
- Unpacks each carton of returned strip covers and prepares them for scanning by shipped from address and Keyrec number.
- Uses Tangent machine, its software, and WMS to process (scan) each strip cover returned by ISBN and credit the correct customer for the return.
- Keeps each shipped from address together on one Return Authorization Number to assign credit for the returned strip covers.
- WMS - Looks up locations and retrieves order status information.
- Read and select the proper size carton for volume and size of product to be shipped; and inserts invoice.
- Properly positions and affixes the labels on the carton to ensure they are oriented for the system scanners.
- Inspects product visually to ensure it is free of damage and the correct count before placing in the carton to be shipped.
- Ensures correct placement of the books in the carton to allow the General Warehouse Employees in packing to carefully secure books with the proper amount of dunnage in order to prevent movement and protect the product while in transit.
- Records the proper adjustments for short shipments on the carton.
- Assists in resolving any discrepancies.
- WMS - Make adjustments for damaged books, stock transfers, and put-away (return product to inventory); retrieves order status information; and look up parcels.
- Conforms to all Company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook)
- Complies with all established environmental, health, and safety requirements in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
