This Position provides oversight of the Robotics Surgery Program both operationally and clinically while designing processes that assure ongoing competency, efficiency, and a positive working partnership with physicians and staff. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: supervision of robotics surgical staff; care for robotics surgery patients program management and patient, resident and staff education and training; supply and equipment management; oversight of multidisciplinary teams; and liaising between physicians, nurse staff, allied healthcare professionals, patients and their families, and vendors.
The Clinical Robotics Specialist:
Implements and manages all aspects of the Robotics Surgery program related to clinical and administrative processes, including development and implementation of clinical and programmatic policies and procedures, operational and staffing decisions in collaboration with the Perioperative Director and physician staff. Sets up the da Vinci Surgical System for surgical procedures and performing clinical troubleshooting of the da Vinci System during robotic procedures. Serves as point person for any da Vinci related questions. Assists surgeons in the performance of surgical procedures which include Robotics surgeries. Maintains records of surgical procedure pathways and guidelines. Develops and maintains performance and competency requirements for robotics surgical team. Evaluates and adjusts specialty team staffing. Works with Operations Coordinator to complete patient care assignments based on expertise of the staff members and demands of the OR schedule. Routinely acts as a clinical resource / adviser to staff for problem identification and resolution. Anticipates and proactively guides care to prevent untoward events. Oversees the orientation, training, and preceptorship of department staff and residents to the Robotic Service. Assists in developing marketing and promotional ads surrounding the Robotic Surgery Program. Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. Competencies Required:
Knowledge of surgical procedures in general surgery and best practices. Knowledge of da Vinci system and specialized surgical equipment. Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative skills. Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program by the ARC-PA or an accredited Certified Surgical Assistant Program. Three (3) years of operating room experience required. Minimum of three (3) years current Surgical First Assistant experience in Robotics surgery. Urology, gynecology, and general surgery experience required. One (1) year of leadership experience preferred Current American Heart Association BLS / ACLS card required through AHA.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Laboratory Robotics Automation Specialist- Liquid Handling** to provide laboratory support for enhancing laboratory capacity for comprehensive characterizations of human immune responses to influenza viruses. We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to be responsible for the implementation of a **complex automated workflow** using the TECAN (or similar) liquid handler specifically for Influenza immunological assays. This position is located in immunology and pathogenesis branch (IPB), Influenza Division, Roybal CDC. The purpose of this position is to provide professional support in the mission of the IPB/influenza division with responsibilities for comprehensive analyses of immunological responses to influenza vaccination and infection in humans and research activities leading to improved control of influenza.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ **Implement, maintain,** and **assist in troubleshooting** the automation workflow for highthrouput assays, using complex robotics such as TECAN.
+ Using **coding expertise** (Tecan uses mainly VBA) to configure and program automated liquid handling instrument to improve the assay throughput while maintaining high quality results.
+ Assist and perform validation experiments with subject matter experts
+ **Integrate data** outputs into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
+ Maintain Continuing Education regarding tracking and managing changes in liquid handling methods
+ Assist in SOP documentation
**THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:**
+ BS degree in Robotics Engineering Biomedical Engineering and coding or relative field.
+ Experience ( **2 Years** ) with operating robotics, and coding for, and developing methods for automated complex liquid handling systems required. Preferred systems include complex Tecan, Agilent, Perkin Elmer and or Beckman Coulter.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise with liquid handling equipment, the coding needed for assay and assay development.
+ Programming and scripting aptitude
