This job exists due to a grant received by the City of Peoria to implement a co-responder model for mental health professionals to respond to calls with the Peoria Police for individuals that need the assistance of mental health professionals. This position will be a part of the City of Peoria Social Services Unit (SSU). SSU personnel are tasked with assisting those who come into contact with, or are referred to, the SSU. One of the goals is to promote safer encounters between citizens in need of crisis services and police department personnel while maintaining a high level of professional service.
