We are helping a local leading Fabric-Covered Buildings construction company in Northeast Iowa, add committed and reliable laborers. Our client has been in business for over 10 years and engage in dozens of projects across the Midwest. The majority of the projects are in Iowa, but they also venture into Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
You will travel during the week and be home for your weekends. Work includes minor concrete work, wood post and I-beam foundations, steel frame erection, and other associated construction type tasks.
Job General Details:
Typical work days are from 6 am to 4:30 pm although there may be changes based upon project requirements.
The typical work week consists of 40 hours but will flex to 60 hours during busy periods or as project schedules dictate.
Typical work schedules are Monday-Friday.
Crews meet at the shop near Clermont, IA daily or weekly as required and travel to and from the job-site via company truck.
One way drive time is paid for travel from the shop to the job-site for non-prevailing wage projects.
Travel Requirements: 40 to 50 weeks per year; Most construction crews will be on the job site up to a week at a time, but home most weekends.

Requirements:
A valid Driver's license or the ability to obtain one is required
Prior to employment, obtain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and successfully pass a drug test, both provided by Greenfield, in Clermont, IA
Basic math, writing, and communication skills
Ability to work at heights throughout a 10-hour work day
Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout a 10-hour work day
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 15 pounds constantly throughout a 10-hour work day
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50 pounds often throughout a 10-hour work day
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 100 pounds rarely throughout a 10-hour work day
Employee provided tools & equipment include steel-toe boots, tape measure, speed square, hammer, pliers, tool belt and pouches
Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as a skid steer, scissor lift, boom lift, forklifts, and various other equipment as projects dictate
Upon employment, successfully pass the OSHA 10-Hr. safety training course prior to 1st day of work, provided by Greenfield
Preferred Requirements: (but will train the right candidates)
High School Diploma
Twelve months or more of general construction experience (carpentry, concrete, ironwork, etc.)
Previous experience operating equipment such as a scissor lift, forklift, skid steer, backhoe, etc.
Spanish speakers and bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply as well.
