Overview Under minimal supervision, is responsible for professional facility construction engineering work of considerable difficulty; and performs related work as required. This is the advanced working level and/or lead class in the Facilities Construction sub- series. An employee in this class provides technical engineering advice of considerable complexity to top management and/or functions as a lead worker over a group of subordinate Facilities Construction Specialists. This class differs from that of Facilities Construction Specialist 2 in that an incumbent of the latter performs work of lesser scope and complexity and does not function in a lead assignment. This class differs from that of the Facilities Construction Assistant Director in that an incumbent of the latter functions in a supervisory assignment. Responsibilities 1. Interprets building, accessibility, safety codes, and state and federal laws for customers, acting as an expert when needed. 2. Troubleshoots project issues to expedite corrections and reviews change order documents for validity and compliance. 3. Reviews project engineering and architectural plans for accuracy and compliance, monitoring project documents throughout various phases. 4. Observes on-site construction progress to ensure compliance with contractual plans, obtaining necessary completion and approval documents. 5.
