This onsite support will ensure all new hires build confidence and proficiencies with all systems technologies and collaboration with the team.

+ Before being eligible to work from home, a team member must submit proof of internet speed test resulting in minimum internet speed requirements of 20 MG download and 10 MB Upload to ensure all systems work appropriately and effectively.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Scheduling Assistant/Receptionist in Patient Business Services at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The primary purpose of the Scheduling Assistant/Receptionist position is to act as a receptionist, schedule, and maintain patient appointments. Provide general office support for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center and its affiliate sites under limited supervision.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Functions as a receptionist at the EBCHC Call Center. Schedules and maintains appointments in accordance with departmental procedures. Answers incoming telephone calls and appropriately routes messages. Assists with Call Center projects, as assigned. Pre-registers new patients including insurance information. Prints appointment schedules for all providers on a daily basis. Makes reminder calls to patients. Advises uninsured patients to apply for sliding scale at time of registration. Mails out and keeps a file of Presumptive Eligibility (PE) applications. Greets and directs patients and visitors to appropriate areas of the Health Center.



Minimum Education and Experience



Two (2) years of prior clerical/general office experience. At least one (1) year of receptionist and scheduling duties.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



Demonstrated\effective interpersonal skills. Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. Requires working with office equipment and confidential patient records and correspondence. Required to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
