Assist International school boat driver job description

Driver for School-Age Children UP TO $3800/month

Benefits of a driver:

  • Enjoy comprehensive PAID training and a friendly and supportive office staff
  • Work part-time, 5-20 hours per week during the school year
  • Earn above-average wages in pay per route, plus potential additional amounts for how long and far you drive
  • Collaborate with like-minded adults who share your mission and values

We are looking for responsible, purpose-driven drivers who believe all children have the right to safe and reliable access to their education.

About Us:

At Assist Services, we eliminate transportation as a barrier to children’s success. We do this by mobilizing outstanding adults like you who want to make a difference. Our drivers transport many school-age students who are experiencing homelessness, living in foster care, living with mental or emotional special needs, or other circumstances that make traditional yellow school buses a poor transportation option.

We match each student with a part-time driver who takes that student to and from school every day. Many of our drivers are current or former teachers, nurses, nannies, babysitters, personal caregivers, nursing home aides, social workers, parents, and grandparents who are eager to be a positive influence in their students’ lives.

Our Values:

  • Kids First - We can spend 100+ hours a year driving each child; we make those hours count.
  • Excellence Everywhere - We bring the same high level of urgency and quality to every child and every district.
  • Learn Continuously - We are scrappy problem-solvers who treat mistakes as opportunities to grow.
  • Trust Is Everything - We treat each other with respect and candor, and we always keep our word.

Your Role as a Driver:

  • Drive K-12 students safely and reliably to and from school
  • Create a positive, kind, and welcoming environment for children
  • Communicate consistently with parents, caregivers, and school staff
  • Be available from 6:30-9:30am and 1:30-4:30pm on weekdays

Requirements:

  • You are at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • You have at least 1 year of meaningful caregiving experience
  • You have an insured four-door vehicle in good condition and a smartphone
  • You are able to pass a comprehensive onboarding process, including but not limited to fingerprinting, drug screening, background check etc.
