Field Computer Specialist Primary Responsibilities:


Maintain maximum uptime for computer systems and associated broadband connectivity Implement and maintain field computer systems for all entities within the assigned area Support and train users as needed Distinguish between user error and problems requiring escalation to software vendors Identify and coordinate solutions for security gaps and compliance issues



Field Computer Specialist Minimum Qualifications:


Experience with technologies such as administration, security monitoring equipment, storage gates, alarm systems, doors, digital video equipment, printers, computers, VOIP, analog phones, air phones, and cash drawers Current, valid driver's license and clean driving record



Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.


Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

+ Operate and maintain an LMR System.

+ Conduct duties as call sign managers

+ Perform LMR component maintenance, repair, and ensure LMRs are intrinsically safe

+ Submit requirements for new or additional LMR components to the government via CIPS

+ Install, operate and maintain Bosch security systems for access control and alarm.

+ Experience with the use of equipment (to include specialized test equipment), materials, diagnostics, programming software, and any other items and services needed to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, installation and removal of LMR systems, components and subscriber equipment.

+ Must have good working knowledge of hand, power tools and test equipment i.e. Oscilloscope multi-meter.

+ Must be comfortable working with and on electronics.

+ Familiar with the use of DPAS to manage and account for LMR components using DPAS.

+ Ability to manage assigned land mobile radio (LMR) devices

+ Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

+ By Light does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; vaccination requirements and testing are subject to the status of the federal contractor mandate and customer site requirements; testing is at the cost of the employee.

+ Must have the ability to view full color from both eyes.

+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

+ Must have the ability to operate equipment such as a scissor lift.

+ Must have the ability to perform work in lifts at 40 feet above ground.

Primarily responsible for installation systems including Security Alarm, Video, Camera and Access Control systems. This is a hands-on position requiring a mechanical/electrical aptitude coupled with excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
SALARY UP TO $35/HOUR BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

* Work with customers to identify necessary and desired system components
* Read wiring diagrams and systems blue prints to assure proper and safe installation
* Up-sell products to meet customer needs/wants
* Mount low voltage electrical devices & panels
* Run and install wires per manufacturer specifications and code
* Complete necessary paperwork
* Perform on-site troubleshooting when necessary to complete the job
* Provide customer with system operation training
* Keep work truck clean and organized
* Manage inventory and tools for each job to assure proper parts and tools are on hand
* Perform emergency calls on fire & security systems
* Take customer calls 24 hours/day while on call, answering and responding to calls in a timely manner
* Conduct emergency assessments and return systems to proper operational status immediately

Required:

* High School Diploma or equivalent is required
* Must be well versed in the safe use of hand and power tools
* Active Driver License, in good standing required.
* Must meet safe driving policy criteria to be an active company vehicle driver
* Must be able to pass drug and background screenings
* Must be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet
* Must be willing to obtain state licenses if required.

Preferred:

* Prior lift training and/or experience is highly preferred
* Knowledge of construction site and workplace safety practices is highly preferred
* Experience with multi-meter, man-lift operation, use of computers, and compass software is preferred
