BAE Systems senior administrative technician job description

The ideal candidate will perform the coordination, negotiation and management of moderately complex proposals and contracts under minimal supervision.Position requires a comprehensive knowledge of business agreements, government, and commercial contracting methods, including policies, procedures and regulations in order to provide appropriate leadership and support during proposal, fact-finding, negotiation, and day to day contracting activities.The individual is expected to independently demonstrate leadership in contracting strategy and methods, and be proficient in research and presentation skills. Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Maintain and demonstrate a working understanding of the US Government Acquisition and Procurement environment, the BAE Systems Contracts function and relevant Company policies and procedures, commercial and international contracting methods, export, FAR/DFAR and other government regulations.
•Independently lead and support proposal activities including, but not limited to analysis of solicitations, preparing summaries and developing strategies and recommendations based on the analysis, participating in all proposal team meetings, preparing the terms, conditions and assumptions upon which the proposal may be submitted, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency, and preparing the proposal documents for submittal to the Customer.Responsibilities also include coordinating with other company functions as required to ensure appropriate reviews are conducted, scheduling required reviews, and obtaining required review and approval signatures prior to submittal of proposals or execution of contractual documents.
•Research and make recommendations on proposal and contract language.Ensure that all necessary functions review recommendations and terms, with minimal direction and guidance needed from the Contracts Manager.
•Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with customers in definitizing contracts under general guidance from the Contracts Manager.
•Research and provide presentations on Acquisition/Contracting topics, strategies, and approaches of moderate complexity.
•Perform all aspects of assigned contract or purchase order processing including, but not limited to, accuracy of order entry data, contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, receipts and delivery schedules, legal requirements and other commitments.
•Under the supervision of a Contract Manager analyze and prepare various agreements encountered in the business, such as Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's), Teaming Agreements, Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement, Strategic Alliances, and others as the opportunity presents.
•Lead or support fact-finding and other audit activities.
•Participate in final stages of assigned contract by (1) verifying completion of all commitments, and (2) performing assigned activities associated with contract closeout.
•Maintain logs of proposals and other data as required and assist in data collection for monthly/quarterly reporting to Management.
•Act as primary point of contact between the Company and the Customer for all contractual matters on assigned contracts and projects including auxiliary agreements such as Proprietary Information Agreements.Draft, prepare, and execute certain internal and external correspondence on contractual matters with increasing levels of autonomy but under the supervision of a Contracts Manager, commensurate with experience and demonstrated competence.
•Compile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and Company policies and procedures.Serve as the official repository for all contractual documentation and correspondence relative to assigned contracts.
•Develop specialized knowledge in an area of contracting such as, but not limited to, international contracting, certain contract types, commercial contracting, joint ventures, strategic alliances and intellectual property.
•May be required by supervisory personnel to prepare contract summaries to assure proper interpretation of the contract(s), perform cost or price analysis and resolution of moderately complex business issues on a special assignment basis.
•Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•Perform other duties as assigned.

May work extended hours or weekends. Travel as required to satisfy responsibilities.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

May be delegated to execute certain proposals and contracts as directed by Contracts Department Management. Prepare proposals, contracts, and other business documents for execution. Contribute to the analysis of financial and business risk of proposals and contracts.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience, or equivalent experience Knowledge of FAR/DFAR Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in job description above. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel at all levels, customers, and suppliers; Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents; Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; Proficient research and presentation skills.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills


Six or more years of related experience, or Masters Degree in Contract Management Experience with contract review, analysis and negotiation Demonstrated expertise with the FAR/DFARS and working knowledge of Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) is preferred CFCM or CPCM certification from NCMA Working knowledge of negotiating and drafting licensing agreements and understanding of the FAR/DFAR rules concerning assertion of intellectual property rights Working knowledge of Independent Research and Development (IR&D) programs and Engineering services support contracts is highly preferred

Position Overview

As a Senior Systems Administrator, IT Infrastructure at Invenergy, you will be working in a highly virtualized hybrid server landscape. In this role you will serve as the technical expert and authority for Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Vmware ESX, Microsoft Azure, and other enterprise Microsoft technologies. You will be in a key role on Invenergy's IT Infrastructure Server team where you will provide proactive systems maintenance and support to the company's most critical systems and datacenters. You will be the third point of escalation in the incident support process, as well lead investigations in resolving complex incidents. You will work alongside other IT teams such as Program Management, Business Applications, Security, Networking, and Endpoint to resolve issues and participate in projects that deliver IT solutions to the company. You will be an important contributor to the IT change management process, as well as participate in the after-hours support rotation. At Invenergy, you will be joining a team of IT professionals who are proud and excited to work for a company that is at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge technologies for producing energy from renewable and clean energy resources.

Job Responsibilities

+ Proactively maintain server & storage systems, including but not limited to;

+ Conduct regular OS and application updates/patching

+ Implement/monitor/administer server backups

+ Monitor and manage system capacities and address resource constraints before they become serious problems

+ Identify and deliver on other areas of regular proactive maintenance that minimizes unexpected downtime increases system availability and performance

+ Troubleshoot and resolve server and storage-related problems, as escalated by the Service Desk and via automated monitoring alerts, following the company's incident response and escalation policy

+ Build new servers on-premise and in Azure, as needed for projects and support

+ Conduct communications room (IDF) and datacenter design and implementations following best practices for layout, airflow, cabling, and battery backup.

+ Lead disaster recovery failover events and testing for critical business applications

+ Serve as the Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V and VMware ESX Virtualization, and Active Directory technical authority on the Server team

+ Provide leadership in defining and drafting governance such as standard operating procedures, server build standards, technical support, and best practices.

+ Participate in projects, including those driven by IT and also those driven by other business

+ Participate in the IT after-hours support rotation and operations duty following the company's incident response and escalation policy

+ Participate in the IT Change Management process and regularly scheduled maintenance windows

+ Develop communication channels with key business owners and users of business applications and understand the importance of such apps and usage schedules

+ P rovide technical and career development mentoring and guidance to junior staff

+ Adhere to the company's policies, values, and behaviors while providing competent, proactive support to the company's server and storage environments and delivering IT solutions

+ Participate in Invenergy-hosted 101's, training sessions, and events offered by other departments to increase knowledge in Invenergy's core business and the broader renewable energy industry

+ May require occasional travel to local or remote offices, datacenters, and power generation sites in the USA and abroad for supporting systems and project-related work

+ Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

+ Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in an information technology or other field

+ Required Certification: Current and valid MCSE Core Infrastructure and/or MCSE Azure Administrator, or equivalent

+ Experience Requirement: Overall minimum 7 years experience in a Windows Systems Engineer or Administrator role with in-depth experience in the following technology areas;

+ 5 yrs - Hyper-V and Vmware Virtualization

+ 5 yrs - Active directory support and administration

+ 5 yrs - Design, build, and support systems in MS Azure

+ 5 yrs - PowerShell

+ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

+ Strong organizational and planning skills, and ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

+ Works well both alone or in a team setting
