We are currently seeking a Senior Component Engineer for in-house electronic control module (ECU) production and development. The position is on Lucid's low-voltage HW development team. This position requires an experienced professional with an extensive background in high reliability electronics designed for high volume production.

ResponsibilitiesManage component qualification and selection activities for in-house manufactured ECUs. Work with our Global Supply Managers to ensure component availability across our Contract Manufacturers. Experience with Supply Chain Intelligence tools a must.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience.Knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals. ability e to specify test and validation programs for components including analog and digital circuits, switching converters, microprocessors, displays, as well as industry leading edge technologies for future EVs. Experience with the creation of rigorous testing and validation plans to fully support technology transitions from R&D concepts through to production.
Preferred QualificationsAutomotive-grade product design experience a plus.Understanding of industry processes applicable to safety critical automotive systems (ISO 26262), DFMEAs, FMEDAs, PPAP.

Job Details:

Provide components and standards engineering for various Cubic product lines. Apply systems engineering principles and skills to systematically analyze emerging part issues, standardize parts configuration, obsolete parts management. Responsible for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) planning, monitoring and resolution, part standardization, and processing Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in the selection of systems and parts.
- Integrate specialty engineering disciplines into part selection.
- Review developing hardware designs to ensure compliance with part standardization requirements, system, design, drawing standards, and part availability for the lifecycle.
- Utilize SAP Enterprise resource planning (ERP) to monitor and input part related changes and data.
- Participate in GIDEP alert resolution and investigation.
- Monitor and manage all aspects of Cubic's DMSMS process using various tools, including Information Handling Services (IHS).
- Advise program managers and project engineers of emerging part obsolescence issues.
- Maintain the part catalog, and specification library within PLM.
- Maintain Information Handling Services (IHS) subscriptions.
- Generate formal reports concerning DMSMS.
- Identification of hazardous material content in products.
- Identification of conflict, and critical material content in products.

Minimum Job Requirements:

This is a cleared site, U.S. Citizenship is required. Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, plus five years of related experience. Experience in monitoring part obsolescence issues for a Defense contractor environment. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs and requirement management database tool. Mental ability to perform engineering problem solving and analytical tasks. Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints. Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance, if necessary.

This person will work as a member of Tesla's Engineering Test Team to support component and system level testing of our vehicle exteriors and closures systems (mechatronics, door systems, lighting, glass, etc) from concept through program release. A successful candidate for this position would have a broad background in mechanical fixture design, hands on fabrication experience, and mechatronics background for automating test fixtures. This person would work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:

+ Conduct hands-on component and system level R&D: characterization, reliability, and durability testing

+ Work directly with reliability and design engineers to support Design Validation Plan (DVP) development, and lead test planning activities (test scheduling, prioritization, specifications etc. )

+ Develop test fixtures using CAD and work with in-house or external labs for fixture fabrication

+ Conduct detailed inspections such as torque checks, crack checks, CAN signal review, etc. to identify and root cause failures

+ Write necessary scripts to automate testing

+ Conduct data acquisition and instrumentation of sensors such as load cells, strain gages, LVDT etc.

+ Investigate test failures, post process test data and make detailed test reports for clear communication of results

+ Work in close collaboration with test technicians, instrumentation, CAE, reliability and design teams

+ Maintain a clean and organized work space in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment

Requirements:

+ Minimum Bachelors of Science in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

+ Strong engineering fundamentals

+ Minimum 3+ years of related industry experience

+ You love to be hands-on, genuine curiosity to figure out why something doesn't work; demonstrated experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems

What would make you stand out as an awesome potential candidate? Having some of the following on your resume:

+ Experience in component and vehicle sub-system testing

+ Experience with sensors (load cells, strain gages, LVDT etc.) and data acquisition systems such has National Instruments, Dewesoft, etc.

+ Experience with CAD and fixture design (CATIA background is a plus)

+ Experience with programming (Python background is a plus), LabVIEW and CAN communication for test automation
