We are looking for someone who would excel at supporting our Data Analytics team. This role will focus on driving and supporting specific business growth initiatives at Western Union by utilizing efficient techniques to provide meaningful insights informing key business results.

You will be partnering with resources from various internal Data teams to align on insights, recommendations, and steps forward. The role requires innovative systematic thinking, creative problem solving, and strong analytical skills. Most of your time will be spent working on solutions to critical problems, querying databases, and performing various analytic/statistical techniques.

The ability to communicate in a cross-cultural environment (which makes English proficiency a must-have), create relationships, and influence stakeholders, are the key soft skills to succeed. From a core technical standpoint, proficiency in SQL, data modeling, statistics (using R or Python), and excel would be the minimal requirements for this role. You'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and related hands-on experience for data analysis daily and will actively contribute to pushing for a data insight-driven organizational behavior.

For this role, you will need to hold a bachelor's degree or be an advanced degree holder in STEM fields such as statistics, math, software engineering, computer science, or similar others. You will combine your education with at least 5 years of experience in similar roles managing data analytics, data modeling and interpretation, and delivering actionable insights.
Relevant experience within the financial industry is preferred. You should demonstrate the ability to organize and manage multiple, time-sensitive projects. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills (English C1). You should be driven and inquisitive and above everything carry a problem-solving attitude at your core.

• Consults to all levels of the organization on the design, development and implementation approaches for logical database structures and classification schemas.
• Develops policies and procedures to build, maintain and leverage the data model.
• Provides technical, strategic guidance on the development of metadata tags, Document Type Definitions (DTD), and schemas using appropriate technologies for representation of data and data relationships.
• Ensures that metadata and data standards and definitions will support both business and mission processes and system implementation approaches, and NSG/ASG requirements for sharing data.

Qualifications

BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or equivalent Senior level experience as a Data Architect.
• Senior-level experience in software engineering field of work specializing in data/database design and management.
• Previous working experience in government or industry in Data conditioning (extraction, transformation, loading, etc.), metadata and standards.
• Previous working experience in government or industry, determining data storage requirements.
• Previous working experience in government or industry, with Data Base administration to include; data indexing, search & retrieval, Parallel processing (Hadoop, NoSQL D/B, Spark).
• Previous working experience in government or industry, in Data Management services (compliance, cataloging, provenance, identifier, registry, metrics, recall & revision).

Desired:

• Previous working experience in government or industry, of Data access services, APIs, Linked Data (REST, SOAP, OGC, etc.).
• Previous working experience in government or industry, in Data Queuing, Messaging, Orchestration, Choreography services.
• Previous working experience in government or industry, of Data Security Services (IAA, DPM, DRM, PDP, PEP, PAP, etc.).

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Summary

Senior Data Architect is responsible for defining and implementing enterprise data architecture that aligns related business architecture with enterprise strategy. The individual will work closely with other members of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) & Data and Analytics (DnA) Teams as well as cross-functional team to develop and implement data architecture solutions that are accessible, useful, and secure. Some travel may be required

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

Responsible for data architecture design, data modeling approaches, design standards, development tools, and life cycle practices for enterprise data warehouse

Responsible for mentoring and providing technical leadership and direction to data architects and members of the EDM team in data architecture design, data modeling approaches, design standards, development tools, and life cycle practices for enterprise data warehouse

Create or improve existing data pipelines in cloud for data transformation and aggregation, data analytics, visualization and data science use cases

Drive data integration efforts to increase value of operational technology investments including AMI, Water Quality, Customer Experience, SCADA, GIS, Asset Management, Work Management, IIoT, etc.

Address technical inquiries around enterprise architecture and general features / functionality of Snowflake data lake platform

Assist data analyst with design and implementation of standards and best practices for data modeling including metadata, master data, and data quality

Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data pipelines with state-of-the-art monitoring and Data Quality practices.

Analyze functional needs and understand cross system reporting requirements that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions for enterprise wide projects

Help in building high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts

Recommend solutions and advise on hardware/infrastructure and software needed that are aligned with Business and IT strategies and comply with Veolia standards and processes

Responsible for EDM database design including schemas, automation of data quality rules, logical model designs, naming conventions, optimized queries, and indexes

Work independently and with the data SMEs to learn the source system data

Develop a data security model that aligns with the source system applications

Work with DBAs on physical table creation, partitioning and indexing

Perform requirements analysis with the ability to write functional specifications and data flow diagrams

Lead large-scale enterprise data acquisition and data management projects and support / troubleshoot data issues

Bring together large, complex and sparse data sets to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

Support enterprise report developers in determining the most efficient way to pull necessary data

Design and implement data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to help them in building, optimizing and tuning our product

Assist developers and data analyst with data test planning
