**This Opportunity**

WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Sr. Hydrogeologist** for our **Shelton, CT** office. Be involved in projects with our **Earth & Environment Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

**Your Impact**

+ Prepare environmental work plans and manage projects through completion, on time and budget

+ As needed, support field work (supervision of drilling, remedial actions, collection of various samples)

+ Supervise, mentor and train junior staff

+ Data analysis and interpretation to determine the next course of action

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Who You Are**

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline

+ Must have completed at least one hydrogeology course

+ 5 to 7 years of experience working as a Geologist.

+ Good understanding of CTDEEP RSRs

+ The candidate must have strong computer and writing skills.

+ The successful candidate must be able to work independently and show a high level of initiative and attention to detail.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ M.S. degree in geology or hydrogeology and must have completed at least one hydrogeology course

+ Proficiency with ESRI"s ArcGIS software

+ CTDEEP Licensed Environmental Professional

+ Water supply development and permitting experience\#LI-BJ1

**Your Opportunity**

We are seeking a Professional to Senior Level Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in the Mining, Minerals and Metals Business Line. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Engineering and Environmental Business Centers. This position can be located in Stantec's Denver, CO; Fort Collins, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; or Chandler AZ office.

The Professional to Senior Level Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will support groundwater flow and transport modeling, field investigations, GIS analysis, and report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires some travel, potentially to remote field sites within the United States. International travel may also be required depending on project needs.

**Your Key Responsibilities**

+ The Professional to Senior Level Hydrogeologist will be responsible for analyzing and communicating hydrologic and geologic data to provide insight into critical groundwater flow and contaminant transport processes as they relate to mine water management.

+ Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

+ Develop conceptual, analytical, and numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport models

+ Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production

+ Perform field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring

+ Interpret aquifer tests, characterize aquifers based on maps and other spatial data, and perform spatial analysis using GIS tools

+ Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.

+ Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.

+ Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules

**Your Capabilities and Credentials**

+ Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations

+ Ability to work under little supervision and work well with others to achieve group results

+ Groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling

+ Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables

+ Ability to work on several projects or tasks during any given day on a consistent basis

+ Must be able to manage time, be organized, and set priorities

+ Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions

+ Positive attitude and a desire for continuous learning

**Education and Experience**

+ Minimum of an M.S. in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required

+ Experience and/or course work completed in groundwater and vadose zone modeling is required, experience with MODFLOW or FEFLOW software is preferred.

+ Expertise in GIS is required

+ Ability to work independently in the field at remote sites.

+ A minimum of 10 years of working experience in consulting or regulatory environment, regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data

+ Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG or PE)

+ Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication are required (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested)

**Job Summary**

AECOM is searching for a Senior Hydrogeologist with analytical and numerical groundwater flow and solutetransport modeling background to add to our groundwater team. The right candidate will poses a strong groundwater modeling resume and have a background of leading hydrogeologic investigations at large, complex sites demonstrating history in the development of remedial strategies and closure: Statistical analysis of hydrogeologic data, well-field design, installations, contaminant fate and transport analyses, groundwater modeling using MODFLOW, MODFLOW-USG, FEFLOW, PEST, MT3D, RT3D, and MODPATH (SEAWAT and FEFLOW desired but not necessary), LNAPL modeling; decision tree development; and preparation of feasibility studies and remedial action plans. The candidate will participate in client and agency meetings and teleconferences and should be highly skilled in technical presentations and advocacy discussions. The right candidate will be familiar with the geology/hydrogeology of various environments including sedimentary and fractured rock settings, statistical analyses of groundwater data, groundwater modeling and DNAPL/LNAPL investigations. Experience in Pacific Island settings, Hawaii, and basalt aquifers is a plus.

+ Provide technical oversight of hydrogeological investigations, including contaminant delineation and remediation and water resources evaluations including SB610, SGMA groundwater basin safe yield assessments, and recharge modeling.

+ Numerical groundwater modeling

+ Develop strategy for hydrogeologic/hydrologic characterization of groundwater and/or surface water systems

+ Provide interpretation of hydrogeologic data, statistical analyses supporting contaminant delineation and remedial alternatives analyses

+ Clearly present and communicate the findings internally, clients and to the LEA

+ Experience with USEPA and local regulatory agencies

+ Contribute effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in Geology or Hydrogeology and 12+ years of professional experience in geological investigations, hydrogeologic applications, statistical analysis of hydrogeologic data, well design, rehabilitations and installations, well-field design, analytical and numerical groundwater flow and transport analyses and modeling or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.

+ Valid Driver's license

+ Ability to pass all pre employment pre hire activities

+ United States Citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in Hydrogeology

+ 15+ years' of professional experience in geological investigations, hydrogeologic applications, statistical analysis of hydrogeologic data, well design, rehabilitations and installations, well-field design, analytical and numerical groundwater flow and transport analyses and modeling

+ Experience with groundwater water balance studies, including understanding and having experience with various methodologies to evaluate groundwater recharge.

+ Experience with petroleum hydrocarbons, VOCs, SVOCs and metals in groundwater; feasibility studies, groundwater remedial system and well-field design and performance evaluations.

+ Proficient in project management, including budget management and tracking.

+ Outstanding written and communication skills, and having a resume of relevant publications in the field of Hydrogeology.
