HOW YOU WILL DO IT
As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer you will develop and lead the Global strategy for Product Engineering at Plexus Corp.

Key Job Accountabilities:
Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve complex production problems related to tooling, methods, processes, equipment, engineering specifications on parts, assemblies, products, etc.Takes a lead role in New Product Introductions, by designing and implementing the manufacturing processes and ensuring that production schedules are not delayed due to issues within his/her control.Proven ability to train people in manufacturing process techniques used to build assemblies, and/or requests additional training as seen to be required by new products or processes.Sustain production: Support on-going production activities to ensure we continue to meet customer needs and achieve Plexus' goals. Lead review and approval of changes associated with Process Strategy DeploymentContinuous improvement: Conduct continuous improvement efforts at the product ‘process' level to reduce defects, improve yields, and improve productivity in order to deliver customer excellence and achieve Plexus' enduring goals. Conduct analysis of product metric data to assess efficiency and effectiveness. Align opportunities globally to effectively deploy global manufacturing continuous improvement effectiveness to deliver customer excellence and achieve Plexus' enduring goals.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is preferred. Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Product Engineering or Production Engineering background is highly preferred.8-10 years of related experience is required.Travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated ~20%).

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

The Senior Industrial Manufacturing Process Engineer - Production reports to the Engineering Manager and will design processes and develop, integrate, test, evaluate or improve integrated systems or related processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. In this role, the senior manufacturing engineer may work with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to improve productivity and decrease costs. This role will support Baxter's Patient Support Systems business in the Batesville, Indiana Ritter Plant.

What you'll be doing
  • Implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.
  • Solve new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. Lead continuous improvement events and implementations.
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
  • Write and execute validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) on equipment and processes.
  • Update documentation for job instructions, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate a corrective action plan.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computers.
