POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Manufacturing Test Engineer develops test processes, test procedures and test fixtures for a variety of electronic assemblies that are produced at PRIDE Industries’ or at a customer’s location. Employees in this job class apply established procedures and equipment quality standards. This job class requires strong knowledge of digital and analog electronic circuitry, standard test equipment and ATE, programming software and hardware, the ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and assemblies drawings. Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software and 3D printing experience.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. * Develops and builds specialized test equipment and bed of nails fixtures. Installs and debugs programming software and test applications.2. *Sets up and operates a variety of standard and specialized test equipment.3. *Performs development and modification of test equipment and test procedures.4. * Assists to test technicians on tests of complex analog and digital printed circuit boards and assemblies.5. * Performs failure analysis to determine root cause of failure and recommends corrective actions.6. * Provides training and support to Manufacturing Test team.7. * Supports NPI test process and assists engineering with prototype bring up.8. * Works with customer’s design and test engineers to transfer new products to manufacturing.9. * Creates bug lists and debug procedures. Collects test and rework data.10. * Supports complex technical projects involving hardware (systems, R&D design, and customer escalation).11. *Participates in various business meetings with customers and other staff on a regular basis.12. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s Degree in the Electronics Engineering field with five or more years of directly related manufacturing engineering experience or ten years directly related experience with supplemental formal education.•Strong knowledge of theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components;•Demonstrated failure analysis and troubleshooting skills;•Ability to learn and apply knowledge in minimal amount of time;•Ability to work with sufficient speed, accuracy, and attention to detail to perform jobfunctions as required;•Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team,customers and others;•Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;•Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;•Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;•Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.•Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills.•Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
Responsible for precision optical and electronic assembly, test, set-up and general technical support of laser and spectroscopy systems manufacturing/product development. Performs precision optical alignment and assembly tasks; electronics assembly and testing; optical measurement, inspection, and characterization of lasers, filters, and systems; production and returned product troubleshooting; and set-ups of laser and optics test experimental apparatus.

Education and Work Experience:

Ideal candidate would have a year or more work experience in fiber optic component laser coupling or optical alignment, and familiarity with electronic and optical test and measurement equipment (microscopes, optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, wavelength meters, laser mode measurement, current/voltmeters).
Experience doing fine mechanical work a plus as the job entails working with very small components, occasionally under a microscope. Must have knowledge of basic math and algebra, and basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processor experience. Must be able to follow written procedures as well as verbal instructions and fill out test and manufacturing paperwork. This job will require extensive training and candidate must have good learning skills.
