Senior operations engineer job description

The PyTorch Team @ NVIDIA is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer passionate about designing and building systems tailored for continuous delivery of Deep Learning software. Our team is responsible for building and supporting tools used by AI engineers across the world to research, develop, and deploy AI applications scalable across thousands of GPUs. This position will embed you in an ambitious and diverse team that influences all areas of NVIDIA's AI platform as well as directly contributes to PyTorch.

In this role you will work with multiple teams at NVIDIA across fields, as well as collaborate internationally with the PyTorch community to deliver the best AI platform in the world. This role is open to working remote.
What you will be doing:

Collaborate with the team to build and optimize continuous integration systems Lead software best-practices for reliability and timely software releases on multiple platforms Identifying and pursue infrastructure needs Work and coordinate with internal teams to improve software reliability through continuous deployment strategies



What we need to see:


MS or PhD in Computer Science or engineering (or equivalent experience), and 3 or more years developing systems to improve engineering processes 5+ years of relevant experience Proven effectiveness build software for or supporting large scale systems Expertise in scripting in multiple languages such as Python, shell, Perl etc. A strong foundation in developing large software projects Comfort developing C++ build processes for large scale linux systems Passion for software debugging and deployment on distributed systems

The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $126,000.00 - 173,250.00 USD.

We are actively seeking a DevOps team member to contribute in the continued development of tools, Frameworks & technique to improve Developer productivity and Quality . Looking for a DevOps engineer with the passion for building, configuring, deploying, and monitoring and supporting the tooling and processes needed across a large organization with numerous applications.
Responsibilities:


+ Be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with Application Development and DevOps Leadership.


+ Enable Dev teams to build and deploy middleware business service applications from code to test and production environments using the different middleware infrastructures.


+ Standardize, automate and document development platforms - continuous build, test and integration processes.


+ Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management


+ For on boarding exiting application, performing Knowledge transition from Development team to DevOps team on build and deployment process.


+ For New applications, work with development to get the requirements of application to on board to CICD process.


+ Build and lead POCs for tools for internal use to support DevOps best practices


+ Thought leader on the future technologies used for containers, automation, monitoring, and self-healing to improve the velocity and quality of our engineering efforts


Qualifications


+ 2-3 years' experience in DevOps role -supporting developers by providing infrastructure, maintaining CI/CD systems


+ 2-3 years of Python/Java/J2EE Enterprise Web Development.


+ Experience With Agile/Scrum SDLC/Jira


+ Experience in UNIX/Linux and Solid Scripting Skills (Perl, KSH, Python, Ruby, Powershell)


+ Working knowledge of the use & administration Git/Bit Bucket and automated deployment


+ Configuration Management / Automation experience with build technologies


+ Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Wily, AppDynamics/Dynatrace


+ Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and solid analytical and problem solving skills.


+ Should be a self-starter and willing to take ownership of the assigned tasks.


+ College Degree in Related Field or related experience.
