Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. Our facility includes centers for advanced wound care, sleep disorders, bariatrics, orthopedics cardiac services, cancer care, emergency services, and more. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and a recently expanded Emergency Department.

Clara Maass Medical Center has been recognized nationally for its quality and patient safety by Healthgrades and by The Leapfrog Group, having earned its twelfth Grade A in 2019. The Medical Center has received Disease-Specific Care Certification from the Joint Commission for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Congestive Heart Failure, Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Advanced Certification in Palliative Care and is listed by the American Hospital Association as one of Healthcare s Most Wired hospitals. We are currently looking for a Cleaner position. The incumbent will be responsible for cleaning patient and services areas within the hospital.
You Will:

* Move furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital departments; and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

You Are:

* Capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
* Strong in prioritizing and multitasking.
* Floor Care experience preferred.

You Have:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Must have ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting.
* Must have knowledge of infection control procedures.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills.

Example of Week:

Work Monday and Tuesday 4pm-12:30am in the Family Health Center.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the ER-11pm-7:30am

Off Sunday, and Wednesday

Responsibilities:

• Cleans patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restroom as necessary.
• Follows scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
• Follows and adheres to all hospital wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) preferred.

Certifications:

• None required.

Complexity of Work:

• Requires attention to detail, ability to follow directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

• Requires one to three months on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light Work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for all basic cleaning Move furniture, vacuum, reposition furniture, empty trash and replace liners Check all trash containers prior to moving it Cleaning includes dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor and spot cleaning glass Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift Cleaning of restrooms includes restocking toilet tissue and other dispensers, emptying trash, clean and sanitize fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls, sweep and mop tile floors, and clean toilets and urinals
