Position Overview
Position Objective:
To process twisted yarn through MF4, HEP, Superba Tunnel, Accumulator, Winder, and wind finished product on tubes, doffing full packages, inspecting for quality issues, clipping tails, properly labeling and identifying every package as well as case being built/packed.
Essential Duties: (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Controls the day to day operation of the heatset tunnel.Patrols process area to ensure that a quality product is being produced and for any nonconformance or potential issues.Report unsafe equipment, machinery, or conditions to supervision immediately.Coding any downtime into HUD.Troubleshoot/diagnose issues with the machine line.Monitor and record machine line parameters. Report any out of spec parameters to supervision.Able to maintain or exceed expected production requirements.Assist fellow associates running machines on either side of your job as needed.Assist in lot changes. Adjust parameters using the spec. sheet to new lot standards. Fill out lot change checklist and turn it into supervision.Fills tube magazines on winder as needed.Communicates with creeler regarding any changes and assists when needed.Repairs wipeouts/breakouts, per the process, from the accumulator to winder using air splicer. Splices must be checked for strength before starting the winder. Must be able to reach all yarn path positions/path.Unloads finished packages from the belt for shipment and labels properly per procedure.Keep work area neat, orderly, and safe. Yarn clippings, tubes, tube caps, and packages should not be on the floor, catwalk, Superba line, or winder.Report contamination, mixed yarn, out of spec conditions, or any type of off quality to supervision immediately.Perform other duties as specified by supervision.
Non-Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Record downtime and reasons on operator check sheets---This to be replaced with HUD screens.
Other Requirements:
Must perform any other duties as assigned by supervision.Must possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Must be able to work scheduled shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
