The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a seasonal job opening for the Angel Tree Worker position for the Birmingham Area Command located in Birmingham, AL.
This position is responsible for:
Provides support for the seasonal Angel Tree program; lifts, carries, loads and unloads a variety of donations from vehicles to the appropriate areas;
assists with layout, set up, and cleanup of warehouse and staging areas for program;
serves as an attendant at Angel Tree sites; assists with pick up from the malls or corporations. Performs data entry of recipient information; maintains warehouse and restroom areas with cleanup.
Key Responsibilities:
Responds to questions about the Angel Tree program; maintains a good relationship with donors and recipients to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
Travels to Angel Tree sites to represent The Salvation Army and deliver supplies.
Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations; unloads donations at the Christmas warehouse; assists recipients with loading gifts into vehicles.
Lifts and stacks donations in vehicles and in the warehouse; distributes donations to their proper place; organizes donated items in the established method.
Assists with data entry of recipient data into established database.
Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Angel Tree displays, Christmas warehouse and loading dock area.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
Knowledge of The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree Program
Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.
Ability to abide by required dress code.
