Position Summary: The Educational Success Worker is an integral part of the Tides Outreach Program (TOP) team. The Educational Success worker specializes in providing support to students experiencing school/ truancy issues. The Educational Success Worker serves as the primary liaison between the assigned schools, Tides, and families. The position also offers support to the TOP caseworkers and clinicians to ensure students have access to transportation and healthy morning routines.
Essential Functions:
Work within the designated area community to understand barriers to educational, health and social wellness.
Support case management/care coordination activities.
Cultivate relationships with community partners in order to secure resources for clients with the goal of increased attendance and academic attainment.
Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with schools to facilitate attendance, behavior, performance monitoring.
Provide transportation assistance to school as needed.
Set schedule with expectation of flex scheduling as needed Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
Support out of school time programming as needed.
Help families make informed decisions by acting as their advocate regarding their educational, medical status, treatment options and basic needs and schedule internal and external educational advocacy meetings as needed.
Offer Vocational Support and transition planning.
Develop effective working relations and attend group supervisions to collaborate and problem solve with team members on how to best decrease negative behaviors that are impacting academic achievement.
Demonstrate and integrate a strong understanding and commitment to the Tides Mission
Maintain accurate and accessible case notes, reports, files and statistics as required by the initiative.
Contribute to the completion of strengths-based Recovery Plans by offering input on recovery goals that align with the youth's academic achievement.
Meet client engagement productivity expectations as outlined by program or supervisor.
Perform additional responsibilities consistent with initiative needs and other duties as assigned in support of the Tides Family Services Mission.

Day to Day
Our WORKS Fellow is responsible for supporting several successful programs, while also supporting all initiatives delivered by the foundation. The Computer Science For All: Building Capacity in Computer Science Education and Student Near Peer Classroom Mentorship Is an integrated math and computer science Professional Development research project that emphasizes a cascading near-peer project based pedagogical approach to math instruction.
College STEM Literacy Workers (CSLWs) are local college age undergrad and/or graduate STEM majors from groups historically underrepresented in STEM. They have two essential roles in this project.
The first role is to work directly with YPP and Bootstrap staff to become apprentice YPP educators of integrated computer science education through the Bootstrap Algebra curriculum and YPP Pedagogy. CSLWs will act as co-learners and co-facilitators with teachers in professional development sessions.
The second role is to work hand and hand with 9th and 10th grade math teachers to deliver quality content knowledge pertaining to the Bootstrap: Algebra module and other computational thinking principles. Some of the duties in the classroom are, but not limited to:

Math Literacy Workers (MLWs) will learn and develop skills to facilitate effective math workshops/lessons. The MLWs are supported by other MLWs and college students (and in some cases classroom teachers) who collaborate in planning, debriefing, and implementing their math literacy workshops. YPPs goal is to ensure that MLWs understand that, for the purposes of equity, their work as near peer math facilitators who are from the same community as their students, is indispensable and vital to the broader education community.
Time Commitment (School Year and Summer):
40 hours of training
12-25 hours per week of programming (4-5 hours of plan/prep + 2.5 hours of workshop, set-up, debrief per week)
Compensation
$15 / hour
Payments every two weeks, from The Young People's Project Inc.
Job Description:
MLW will prep, plan, and debrief at their high school in teams of four, 4-5 hours per week. Additionally, MLWs should be prepared to facilitate math modules/workshops at their assigned middle school for 90 minutes per week plus 60 minutes to set-up/debrief.
Debrief (student's response to each activity, most/least effective, needs improvement)
Plan (revise / create lesson plans, assign roles, collect materials)
Practice & Professional Development (mock facilitate, give each other feedback)
Create or Design a new game or activity
Team building activities (with fellow MLWs, teachers, and staff)
Review training material or math content to ensure MLW understanding

Job Description:
National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) to support railroad flagging services for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT's, as well as Railroad Suppliers, Contractors, and Consultants alike.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, State DOT Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Railroad Contractor, and/or Railroad Consultant; preferably within the Maintenance Of Way (MOW) Department.

* Identify rule violations and resolve in accordance with Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
* Enforce Contractor training requirements.
* Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.
* Provide On-Track Safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT Rail Divisions, Railroad Suppliers, Railroad Contractors, and/or Railroad Consultants.
