Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Building & Maintenance * Assists in projects in accordance with general instructions. * Lays, finishes, and repairs concrete sidewalks, floors, walls, and steps. * Performs rough and finish carpentry work; builds, repairs, and refinishes furniture; builds and installs partitions, platforms, stagings, counter-dividers, and other similar work. * Performs locksmith work, plumbing, and a variety of other trades tasks including roofing, glazing, painting, plastering, sanding & refinishing floors, and demolition & salvage work on City buildings, facilities, and recreation areas; remains on call 24/7 in the event of emergencies or problems. * Assists in identifying maintenance and repair needs, addresses emergent issues, and provides skilled solutions. * Responds, engages, and interacts with the public on a daily basis. * Work is subject to review by a Building & Maintenance management or Skilled Tradesworker II or III. * Executes daily workload through an electronic work order system by receiving and tracking work orders to completion. * Performs other duties as assigned. Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment: A valid State driver's license is required. Must obtain and maintain Forklift and Tow Equipment Certification within one (1) year of hire.
