Primary Job Functions This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be to perform all job functions. Uses safety approved air gun to remove grit and dust after blasting. Removes all protective car coverings, blows trucks and other car parts clean and inspects the car to ensure that it has not been damaged. Removes all weld spatter, laminations, and sharp edges from inside tank/hopper cars by grinding. Grinds girth weld level on floor when . Vacuums complete interior of tank car. Foils and tapes all stainless steel inside tank car as . Maintains equipment and replenishes the short supply. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees. Apply proper blast profile to product assuring all oil and dirt is removed. Marks and masks off areas of product using tape and masking paper to protect it while surrounding areas are painted. Removes and disposes of tape and masking paper after the paint is dry. Caulks cracks when necessary, using pneumatic and hand-pump caulking guns. Moves product into the paint booth and coordinates job flow making sure correct kits are with units. Sands or otherwise prepares surface for painting. Performs necessary quality assurance measures and appropriate paperwork as required.     Job Description Mainly day shift with flexibility on some afternoons and nights. Must have valid driver's license and be able to pass 90-day hair follicle drug screen. JOB FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the operation of tools and equipment in a variety of customer work sites for providing industrial and/or environmental cleaning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Strictly adhere to MPW Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. 2. Arrive at branch or jobsite on time, in uniform, properly groomed, mentally alert and physically able to work. Follow branch process for work schedule. 3. Set up jobsite including water blast hose, or vacuum hose, barricade tape and tags. 4. Use equipment such as, water blast gun, water lance, dry vacuum hose (6”and 8”), wet vacuum hose (6” and 8”), shovels, picks, automated tooling, aerial platform lifts and any other equipment needed. 5. Cleans equipment prior to return to MPW branch location. 6. Demonstrate initiative in execution of assigned tasks. 7. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Maintain valid ID to ensure access into customer sites. 2. Preferred specific exposure to an equipment or maintenance environment. 3. Experience performing manual labor in an outside setting. 4. Preferred 2-3 years of “hands on” experience with tools or heavy equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to move up to 50 Lbs., with or without accommodation. 2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves physical manual labor. 3. Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty. 4. Ability to position oneself for work conducted in and around confined spaces. 5. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc. 6. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift.
