The Composite/Design Technician, Sr. is a working position that requires a high level of technical expertise and an in-depth understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes. The technician will work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure that designs meet stringent safety and performance standards. The Composite/Design Technician, Sr. will be responsible for the integration of composite materials into various aerospace systems, employing advanced techniques to produce and assemble parts that withstand the rigorous demands of flight. Documentation of processes is a critical component of the Composite/Design Technician, Sr. as is the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. The ability to operate specialized machinery accurately and safely is required. Technicians are expected to conduct rigorous testing and inspections of fabricated components, identifying, and addressing any issues that may arise during production. Location: Hood River, OR Position Responsibilities Accurate interpretation of technical information (written, verbal, drawings etc.) Work with Engineering and other departments to ensure a high-quality new product implementation. Keep tools organized and in a ready to use state (maintain sharp tools). Assist in determining project schedule and ensuring adherence to schedule. Diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment Running tests and completing reports Assist in determining “best way” to take a concept to production with an eye toward manufacturability. Repairing or replacing faulty equipment Assist in training of new employees as needed. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures Training of employees in production of newly created parts. Planning and scheduling repairs Input and creation of production and R&D tooling (molds and fixtures). Timely completion of production tasks. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree, certification(s) or some related college courses highly preferred. 6+ years of related experience required. The Senior Software Developer will lead teams developing state-of-the-art military aircraft simulations. The work will involve mentoring junior developers and engineers, prioritizing and assigning tasks, performing code reviews to enforce JFTI and project-specific coding standards, ensuring software is properly tested, and providing direct assistance to customers worldwide. The position requires knowledge and experience in the following areas: In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics (navigation, communication, propulsion, flight control systems). Solid understanding of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and the principles of flight for modeling realistic aircraft behavior. Familiarity with military combat tactics, flight maneuvers, and training requirements for combat aircraft simulations.
