This is a hands-on, deeply technical PM role for someone who lives and breathes developer experience. You've written code, worked with Git, debugged pipelines, and felt the pain of slow builds, flaky tests, and broken caching. You'll partner closely with engineering, design, and customers to deliver developer-first, intelligent CI experiences that dramatically improve build speed, reliability, and cost efficiency. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy individual-contributor role. You'll operate across teams, shape product strategy, and influence company-level direction while staying close to code, customers, and the real developer workflow. About the Role Define and own the strategic roadmap for key areas of Harness CI - from build performance and cloud infrastructure to test intelligence and developer productivity. Partner deeply with engineering to define requirements, validate technical feasibility, and drive timely, high-quality releases. Engage directly with customers to understand developer workflows, pain points, and emerging trends in CI/CD. Represent Harness externally in customer meetings, webinars, and industry events, showcasing how Harness is redefining modern CI/CD. About You Developer at heart - fluent in Git, build tools, and CI/CD workflows. You've written code, built pipelines, and understand what frustrates or delights developers. Execution-driven - you move fast, simplify complexity, and get things done. You bias toward iteration over analysis paralysis. Customer-obsessed - you think in user problems, not feature lists. You validate through feedback and usage data, not intuition alone. Comfortable with ambiguity - you can operate with limited context, set direction, and rally teams in a fast-moving startup environment. Strong communicator - you distill technical depth into crisp narratives that drive clarity and alignment across teams. Builder mindset - you thrive on solving developer problems and shaping the future of how software is delivered. AI-forward - you're passionate about applying machine learning and automation to make CI pipelines faster, smarter, and more autonomous - and you see AI as a tool to amplify both developer and product workflows. Startup experience is a strong plus - you're energized by velocity, lean teams, and hands-on execution, and you know how to turn constraints into momentum. Qualifications BSc or higher in Computer Science or related technical field. 7+ years total experience, including: 3+ years in software development or engineering. 4+ years in product management for developer tools, DevOps, or CI/CD products. Deep understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and build/test systems. Hands-on familiarity with technologies like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bazel, Gradle, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure. Experience or curiosity in AI/ML applications for developer productivity (e.g., build/test intelligence, predictive optimization).
