SUMMARY: Provide manufacturing influence and expertise to the Design Engineering team to ensure that manufacturability, repeatability, process control and quality are considered and met at every stage of the production development process. Provide cross functional coordination between Operations, Engineering and the Quality departments to facilitate seamless transition of new product designs into the manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with design engineers on implementing new product designs into production. This includes identifying production capabilities/limitations, conducting engineering builds, coordinating pilots with Operations, and assisting in preparing necessary documentation that helps successfully implement product to shop floor. Review bills of material, assembly drawings, routings, and other production support documentation to maintain accuracy and work closely with Product Support Teams implementing changes and proposed improvements. Work with cross-functional teams in the planning and designing of new products to ensure their manufacturability and apply DFM methods and analysis. Assist in the design and specification of assembly fixtures, jigs, tools and testers as needed to achieve manufacturing goals. Drive continuous improvement projects start to finish updating all necessary Engineering and Manufacturing documentation, processes, procedures, and equipment as needed to support the continuous improvement. Your responsibilities: * Investigates process and manufacturing problems during testing and initiates corrective actions; * Determines proper test set-ups, tests, troubleshoots, and notifies appropriate personnel when problems arise as necessary; * Prepares graphs, charts and tabulations of testing data, maintains testing data and analyzes data under guidance of an engineer; * Performs routine analyses to check applicability, accuracy and completeness of data; * Calibrates, adjusts, operates and maintains environmental test equipment as required; * Assist in designing a variety of tools, jigs and fixtures that will assist in increasing production efficiency; * Handles multiple projects, performs any and all required coordination as applied to testing with other operations to ensure that schedules are met; * Performs other related duties of comparable complexity as directed.
