The Muskingum County Library is seeking Adult Literacy Tutors Under general supervision, Adult Literacy Tutors will report to the Adult Literacy Specialist and perform various tasks related to tutoring Adult Learners. Necessary Qualifications High School diploma; valid State of Ohio driver's license; ability to remain calm under stressful conditions; patience; positive attitude Preferred Qualifications Educational background Time Commitment Minimum of four hours per month, for six months Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Physically load and unload materials for transportation to and from meeting locations Relate well with the general public and exhibit a broad reading background Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports Develop and maintain good working relationships with library patrons and fellow tutors Exhibit creativity to prepare informative and engaging lessons Maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive subject matter Ability to relate well with adults of varying economic and social backgrounds
