Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for concrete trade. Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of planning to prevent delays. Confers with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to resolve problems within work force. Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods detailed to concrete trade. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to crew schedule. Directs workers concerned with major maintenance for existing installations detailed to concrete trade. Responsible for all quality of depth, finishes, edges and surfaces of poured concrete. Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms. Perform any basic forming activity and know all accessories to the forming system. Responsible for proper materials and methods for patching and rubbing of walls. Properly perform concrete flatwork preparation, forming, placement, curing and saw cutting. Responsible for all types of site concrete activities including paving, sidewalks, curbs footings, foundations and retaining walls, etc. Know use of advanced concrete construction materials, fasteners, and equipment. Ability to layout footings, piers, walls, stairs, sidewalks. Responsible for proper use of all personal protective equipment for crew. Supervisory Responsibilities Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these concrete trade. Also directly supervises various non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include evaluating new hires, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
