THIS POSITION IS PROJECT-BASED AND IS EXPECTED TO RUN APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION.
YOUR TASKS
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: PLC Programming, troubleshooting, upgrade and project management of the plant systems and equipment. Composition, training, implementation and maintenance of documentation and machine control media of plant systems and equipment based upon upgrades, installations and task procedures.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
Plan, execute, and track equipment and building projects - including overhauls, upgrades, redesigns, and installations - ensuring all new and rebuilt equipment follow Reliability and Maintainability standards from conception to decommissioning.
Coordinate with Plant Engineering to schedule labor, materials, and downtime needs; provide accurate project estimates and documentation, including drawings, BOMs, control programs, schematics, and updates to the CMM database.
Support and enhance automation systems by installing, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and robotics; perform troubleshooting, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, assist in commissioning new projects, and standardize equipment components and vendor selections for cost efficiency and reliability.
Provide technical documentation and mentorship - creating clear instructions, wiring schedules, and BOMs for Maintenance; pursue ongoing training and mentor maintenance personnel on engineering and automation practices.
Uphold plant and corporate standards by maintaining compliance with all safety, government, and Continental policies; accurately log work in SAP/PUMA, maintain a clean and professional workspace, and be available for coverage or overtime as needed.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Bachelor's degree in an electrical field or similar, or
5+ years relevant experience in an electrical field, or
Certificate in an electrical field
Must be able to pass a technical proficiency test if not holding a bachelor's degree

Modification Test Engineer
Software development engineer job in Bridgman, MI
We are seeking a Modification Test Engineer to join our team at our client's site in Bridgman, MI. In this role, you will assist in the development of test plans and procedures related to plant modifications, adhering to plant procedures and Project Department guidelines. You should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within the project core team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Test Document Preparation: Develop test plans, Project Department Test Procedures, and other testing documents that align with Engineering Change (EC) testing requirements, ensuring compliance with current controls, electrical testing standards, and industry best practices.
* Collaboration: Work with the Responsible Engineer to prepare Project Department deliverables, including but not limited to Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Component Selection Plans and Testing Readiness Presentations following the Project Management User's Guide.
* Meeting Participation: Attend project status meetings and other necessary meetings to support the Core Team.
* Testing Management: Oversee scheduled testing activities (logic/duration/resources) for all project phases, adhering to the Project Management User's Guide.
* Schedule Updates: Manage and provide updates to testing activities within the plant's outage and T-week P6 schedule.
* Subject Matter Expertise: Offer SME-level consultation in controls/electrical topics, transferring specialized knowledge to project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
* Technical Coordination: Lead project technical coordination, testing, and other assigned activities to ensure quality, cost control, schedule adherence, and scope management.
* Resource Determination: Identify project resources necessary for tasks and collaborate with project managers and supervisors to secure adequate support, including specialty test equipment for Qualification Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and Post Mod Testing.
* Specialty Testing Facilitation: Develop plans and processes for specialty testing required for specific projects, resolving system and communication issues as needed. Assess if external services are necessary to address specific criteria. Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure products or systems meet plant procurement specification, Test Plan and all other project requirements.
* Procurement Review: Evaluate significant controls/electrical procurement items for vendor services and project materials/components, ensuring they meet project requirements using appropriate design documents and ensuring the correct scope of work is specified.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
* Experience: Proven experience in writing test procedures and conducting field testing activities.
* Industry Experience: Nuclear Plant
* Plant Specific Qualifications: Ability to obtain Test Engineer qualifications within 3 months of hire date.
* Travel: Willingness to travel to vendor facilities as needed.
* Background Checks: Must pass a criminal background check, drug/alcohol screening (including medical and recreational marijuana as well as CBD oil), and employment testing.
