We are currently expanding our team and are seeking a Dev-Ops Release Manager to manage the software delivery life cycle of a set of web-based government owned applications used by Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition community. This position is fully remote. The candidate will verify all configuration changes made in an agile/Kanban-like development process to include User Stories and Bugs, and the related application and database code changes. The candidate will manage/oversee the process of software application releases through various environments to Production. Microsoft DevOps is used to manage the development process, and the development technologies used are Vue JS, JavaScript, SASS, HTML5, Web API development in C# using .NET Core 6, .NET Framework 4.8 Web Forms, and Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as, possess the following education and experience:

+ Scheduling, planning, and leading the release to production after managing the successful completion of functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing

+ Work closely with the Application Development, QA/Testing, and the Product Consultant teams on user stories, bugs, and changes being packaged for release

+ The candidate will maintain proper coordination between these teams to update the project related information and keep every informed on current status.]
+ Possess Project management and team management experience

+ Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle

+ Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban, and experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies

+ Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines

+ Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system

The Software Architecture System Manager will assist PEO IWS deploy Model Based Systems Engineering techniques to support system and software architecture transition for DevSecOps and a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. PEO IWS has created, "The Forge" which is a Government furnished virtual/physical ecosystem for Agile software development. The Software Architect will contribute to this enterprise software factory supporting surface force combat system development. Additionally, the individual will provide expertise in the final phases of CI/CD pipeline to support software installation about US Navy ship's and obtain Fleet User feedback on the integrated combat system.
In your role, you will be responsible for:

* Managing a group of software engineers, providing them with technical mentoring, career guidance and performance feedback. We want to grow our team and you will be integral in interviewing and hiring new software team members.
* Being an engaged member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the software culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met. Craig Technologies is excited to lead the way in hypersonic missile development, and we want you to be a part of it! We are creating the first hypersonic boost/glide system for the US Army and Navy here on the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program, and our NGC-SW Integrated Product Team (IPT) is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and verifying the algorithms and software that control it. Our group includes the Navigation, Guidance, and Control (NG&C or GN&C) subsystem, which flies the missile and glide body, and the embedded Flight Software (FSW) which hosts the NG&C algorithms and provides health, status, and sequencing for the entire system. Additionally, we develop and maintain the Flight Software testbeds (HILs or HWILs) which provide complete hardware integration testing with feedback and flight simulation to test the NG&C algorithms and flight software. Our integrated release managers, also called our mission thread leads, combine the mindset of a systems engineer and architect with the planning and coordination skills of a software release manager to bring together the architecture, requirements, designs, testing, and most importantly, the plan to develop and release the NG&C and software products. This is an exciting and crucial role within our team and we hope you will consider joining us. We are looking for an energetic, curious, and systems-focused engineer to serve as an Integrated Release Manager for one of our upcoming flight tests. This will require developing a deep understanding of the mission and building meaningful relationships with our customers and industry partners, to create a continuous thread from the top-level flight objectives to the qualification and release of the NG&C subsystem and Flight Software. Additionally, this position will be responsible for guiding the team leaders within our IPT to transform the top-level roadmap into an executable plan, helping to close gaps, remove impediments, and coordinate external handoffs. Finally, this position will oversee the IPT as they implement the plan, responding to external requests and adapting to new discoveries, to ensure we meet our release milestones and ultimately support a flight test for one of the fastest missile systems in existence today. This is a technical leadership role and will not be responsible for the direct management of other team members.

Key responsibilities: • Head up the creation and maintenance of a cohesive flight test roadmap for NG&C, Flight Software, and Testbeds from early design through post-flight analysis • Set up detailed planning efforts across the IPT Project Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Owners to ensure the roadmap is translated into an achievable, resource-loaded schedule • Connect multi-discipline communities to close gaps, analyze subsystem performance, and develop trades to incorporate new capabilities and opportunities • Support execution team as they implement the plan by coordinating team efforts, tracking progress against the plan, and adjusting the plan to account for changes and new information Additional responsibilities • Regularly connect with IPT and senior program leadership to ensure the IPT roadmap aligns with program objectives and milestones • Develop authentic, trust-based relationships with the larger systems team and customer technical community to ensure the NG&C and FSW designs support the overall solution • Integrate with the systems verification and test teams to ensure successful subsystem testing and system verification readiness and support • Support the technical leads and their teams in translating the IPT roadmap and objectives into lower-level features with clear success criteria • Coordinate preparation and participation in program reviews, including design reviews, manufacturing reviews, test reviews, and post-test analysis

Basic Qualifications: • Aerospace, embedded software, or similar technical experience, particularly at the subsystem or system level • Desire and ability to grow trust-based relationships with customers and other stakeholders • Demonstrated success planning and executing technical projects • Proven interpersonal skills in a larger, multi-team team environment • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret clearance

Desired Skills: • Solid technical background in Software, GN&C, and/or Embedded Systems development related to aerospace, robotics, automotive, or a similar field • Demonstrated experience across the development lifecycle of complex systems, ideally related to space and missiles • Experience coordinating and working with large, distributed teams, including external companies and government organizations • Demonstrated understanding and application of Systems Engineering and a Systems Thinking mindset • Experience with Agile (SAFe, Scrum, etc.) planning and execution and tools, such as Jira • Ability to support the finance team in developing budgets and reporting cost, schedule, and technical metrics • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate complex technical and programmatic issues to team members, other technical teams, management, and customers • Understanding of software baseline control and change management • Experience with GN&C or similar flight science analysis • Experience integrating and verifying embedded software with hardware • Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance
