In 2010, Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After graduation, instead of heading straight for the nine-to-five grind, he traveled extensively throughout New Zealand and South America, where he volunteered on farms, learned about conservation and discovered the financial and environmental benefits of solar energy in rural developing nations. Upon returning to the United States, he headed to sun-drenched California with the hopes of propelling the U.S. solar movement forward. Chris immediately found a job as a solar consultant, but it wasn’t long before he uncovered a black spot in the industry – rampant predatory sales tactics, including manipulating data and overcharging. Upon meeting Max and hearing about his ideas to change the solar industry for the better, Chris immediately signed on as a partner, quit his job and has never looked back.
