Participate in room assignments, ensuring that patients, families and all departments are informed Ensure that all records required to be filled out are done so completely, legibly, and in a timely fashion Be able to prepare for and participate in multi disciplinary Patient Care Planning Conferences Act as Ombudsman, informing patient and family of patient's rights and privileges Keep accurate records of complaints, and report complaints and suggested remedies to the administrator Perform case work with patients and families, consisting of basic counseling, arranging for transportation, encouraging family participation, and others as necessary to meet patients' needs Upon admission and throughout stay, coordinate information which will enable patient to be discharged at medically appropriate time Provide information to other facilities with whom there is a Transfer Agreement on discharge Participate in Utilization Review meetings Be aware of community resources, and be able to refer appropriate patients to those resources Develop programs for presentation to various groups regarding nursing home services and/or other marketing related aspects as designated by administrator Participate in continuing education programs available, with consent of administrator Participate in center's quality assurance program.

Definition: The Medicare Compliance Auditor reports to the Director of Clinical Education and, through auditing and monitoring activities, assists in ensuring compliance to state and federal laws, statutes, and regulations related to home health care services and billing processes within NHC HomeCare. Specific responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert with deep working knowledge of applicable laws, statutes and regulations; Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding NHC policies and procedures; Perform detailed audits of documents, including medical records, to ensure compliance to government regulations. Related audits include but may not be limited to RCDs, ADRs, CERTs, RACs, ZPICs, TPE audits, and Reopening Process reviews; Compose professionally formatted letters submission to the government contractors; Submit records and appeals in a timely manner with accurate tracking and status reports; Prepare for and participate in Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearings; Initiate and track follow-up and resolution to investigations, document requests and audit findings with agency staff and Regional/corporate partners as needed; Maintain the confidentiality of protected health information and NHC business practices; Competently navigate the EMR system to access needed documents; Participate in conference calls, webinars, and on-site meetings/training as assigned or requested; Collaborate on developing and providing targeted teaching and training programs via appropriate instructional methods including instructor-led group trainings, on-line learning, videos/webinars, over-the-phone training, or workshops; Contribute to the development of written processes to ensure compliance. Perform other functions as required for position-related activities. Upon return to community notifies the nurse on duty and Administrator immediately. * Reports all incidents and accidents immediately. * Ensures that all established safety regulations are followed at all times. * Recommendations to the Administrator the equipment and supply needed. * Checks gas, oil, antifreeze, brake fluids, platform and tire pressure on a timely basis to maintain the vehicle in good running order. * Vehicles are kept clean and orderly at all times. Keeps vehicles free of loose objects which could fall or roll. * Keeps chart on all incidents, mileage, gas used and number of residents transported daily. Weekly report is submitted to the Administrator in addition to a month-end full report. * Emergency numbers are kept in all vehicles at all times. * Safety check lists are completed before transporting residents. Vehicle safety equipment check lists done weekly. Turns both checklists in to Administrator. * Turns in vehicle maintenance request form and receives approval from Administrator prior to performing maintenance on vehicles. Submits all invoices to the Administrator. * Advises receptionist prior to leaving and upon returning with residents. Completes log of residents who board the bus, and leaves a copy with the receptionist. Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients. Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, directs and supervises maintenance program (heating, cooling, plumbing, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen, communications, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing and similar work; heavy duty cleaning, grounds care, maintenance of institutional equipment and vehicles). Schedules maintenance on repair, preventive, replacement and new installation basis. Orients , instructs and supervises other maintenance personnel. Assigns duties and evaluates work performance. Requisitions supplies and equipment for use in department activities. Keeps records of work performed and costs involved. May keep employee time sheets. Coordinates work of maintenance department with other department functions so as not to interrupt patient care or normal business functions. Advises and consults with Administrator on maintenance and repair needs concerning structure, equipment and grounds. Inspects all equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety. Inspects building and grounds regularly for compliance with local codes, ordinances and safety regulations. Prepares and submits reports, as directed by Administrator. Able to be on call for emergencies. Able to attend department head meetings, workshops and institutes. Be able to perform any or all duties concerned with electricity; plumbing; painting (including resurfacing floors, walls, ceilings) ; carpentry (including furniture refinishing or repair); mechanics (including equipment and mechanical systems); hearing, cooling and water systems; except those services performed under service contract with outside contractors. When an outside contractor performs a service it is to be supervised by the Maintenance Man. Directs or performs duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, driveways, etc. May include gardening, landscaping, clean-up, etc. except that performed under service contract. Perform or direct heavy custodial duties such as scrubbing and buffing; cleaning of basement, storage, utility areas; washing walls, ceilings, outside windows; changing screens and torn windows; changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures and housekeeping duties in very high places; removing and disposing of garbage and trash; others . Runs errands; handles incoming and outgoing freight; lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment; other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Administrator. Responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of institutional property, equipment and grounds as directed by the Administrator. Responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance of equipment used in performance of duties. Regular inspection of property and equipment for compliance with safety regulations. Be able to keep adequate records. Able to take emergency call. Able to cooperate with other employees
