Position Summary:
The Assistant FSO/Industrial Security Representative supports the Facility Security Officer in administering and enforcing the organization's security policies in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DCSA regulations, and company policies. This role helps maintain compliance with all government security requirements for classified contracts and supports personnel and physical security programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the FSO in implementing and managing all aspects of the industrial security program.
* Maintain personnel security records and submit security clearance applications via DISS (Defense Information System for Security).
* Conduct and document briefings, debriefings, and annual security training.
* Support the preparation and submission of visit authorizations (VARs), and escort visitors.
* Perform security pre-screening for subcontractors and consultants.
* Monitor and update classified information systems and control access to secure areas.

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

Frequency ranges from 1 kHz to over 100 kHz will be utilized, dependent on system requirements and environmental factors.
Develop computer based mathematical models to analyze acoustic performance, including signal designs, transmitting transducer characteristics, acoustic propagation, ambient and man made noise environments, receiving transducer characteristics and acoustic receiver designs. These models will be used to evaluate and optimize system designs prior to hardware and software design phases; and they will need to support common methods of performance comparison, including detection probability vs. False Alarm Rate, and Bit Error Rate performance (for communications systems), as appropriate.

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Software Engineer with strong C or C++ programming skills to join our team. This entry-level position is well-suited for individuals who have recently completed a degree in engineering or a related field and are eager to learn and contribute to the development of software that supports acoustic navigation and national defense systems. Under the mentorship of senior engineers, you will participate in projects ranging from embedded Linux to real-time control applications.
This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Santa Barbara, CA headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of software in C/C++, primarily on embedded Linux systems.
* Contribute to integration and testing of software with acoustic navigation hardware.
* Support enhancements to existing software and participate in new development projects.
* Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software QA teams to ensure smooth system operation.
* Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
* Document technical work and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
* Learn and apply cybersecurity and compliance standards, including CMMC and NIST 800-218.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Proficiency in C or C++ (academic, project, or professional experience required).
* Familiarity with Linux or real-time operating systems.
* Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Supplementary experience with Python for scripting, automation, or testing.
* Coursework, projects, or internships involving embedded systems, Linux, or real-time programming.
* Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Exposure to Agile development methods.
* Interest in cybersecurity frameworks or regulated environments (e.g., defense or aerospace).
Required Citizenship and Security Clearance
* US Citizenship is required
* Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
