Job Overview: As an Echocardiogram Sonographer, you would be responsible for performing echocardiograms, two dimensional and M-mode with color flow Doppler and Doppler echocardiography on adult and pediatric patients. You will perform stress echocardiograms, Pharmacological stress testing and assists with Transesophageal echocardiograms on adult patients. Job Duties: * Performs Echocardiograms - involves quality diagnostic scanning of patients in the echo lab or patient room. The patient is positioned on the echo bed by the sonographer performing the procedure: 80% of the procedure time is spent on the scanning function. * The Echo sonographer will demonstrate the ability to assimilate data and perform calculations for interpretation. The tech will collect all the data for the echo study to be viewed for the interpreting physician. Studies will be transferred to the electronic storage/reading station for physician interpretation. * The Echo sonographer will assist the physician with the Transesophageal Echocardiogram - the sonographer must be present to operate the Echo machine and collect all pertinent data. * Demonstrates the ability to effectively perform treadmill studies. * Participates on departmental and/or hospital performance improvement teams as appropriate.
